We learnt yesterday that SEGA is preparing Sonic Origins Plus which will be available as DLC for Sonic Origins, or as a full package, coming in June. There’s a wealth of changes and additions to the original Sonic Origins compilations such as Amy Rose being a playable character and a multitude of Game Gear games which benefit from the HD widescreen treatment. What has also been announced in the marketing blurb is that Sonic Origins Plus will fix some of the bugs and other issues which were apparent with Sonic Origins and will presumably be rolled out at launch on both versions. Sonic Origins Plus is due for release on the Nintendo Switch and other systems, 23rd June.
“Some bugs and action behaviors have been fixed, and some specifications have been improved based on users’ play reports.”

Yeah, why fix up your buggy broken game for free when you can charge fans $9.99 for it!
Sega knocking it out the park once again.
I don’t think the bug fixes are only if you buy the DLC. It’s more likely that it’s in the update that coincides with the DLC. So you’d update the game, the bugs get fixed, then you have the option to buy the DLC
It says “Sonic Origins Plus will fix some of the bugs and other issues which were apparent with the original package”. It specifically says that the DLC will fix those bugs, it says nothing about a free update.
Maybe I’m wrong and this is just poorly worded, but it sure doesn’t seem that way at the moment.
Finally classic Amy playable, she literally should be in Mania now they can very easily update it with the current sprite model
Poorly worded. I would expect both the Plus version and the standard version to receive an update upon the expansion’s release.
I think this originates from a Japanese translation, so definitely wouldn’t read it too literal for now. Not to say I would put it past Sega to limit the fixes to only the paid DLC, but I would be surprised.
Yeah, I get that. Sometimes articles are misleading because it’s quicker to not specify something.
I looked at the sources though, and those specify that the changes are in the update, not the DLC. Just like when a Smash game updates, all that data is put into the game first (though I suppose you could technically buy content separate from updating).
But yeah, the update and the DLC are separate according to the source
Regardless of whether or not the bug fixes are only for DLC owners (which would be ridiculously shallow and petty if that actually is the case), why did they wait an entire year to address them!?
