Rumour: Aubrey Plaza apparently being considered as villain for third Sonic movie

Rumours have started swirling for the third Sonic the Hedgehog movie and according to movie site Giant Freaking Robot, Parks and Recreation and White Lotus star, Aubrey Plaza, is being strongly considered for the role of the villain in the film. The site thinks that Aubrey could be cast as Rouge the Bat, who made her debut in Sonic Adventure 2 for the Dreamcast, though this is just speculation on their part. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is scheduled to appear in movie theatres on 20th December, 2024.

They probably should consider casting Karen Strassman to reprise her role but I’ll give Aubrey a chance if this ends up true.

  3. Aubrey Plaza as Rouge, and as the villain?

I’m no Sonic expert, but I’m pretty sure Rouge was never actually a villain. If anything she’s an antihero who looks after herself first and everyone else after. Even in SA2 when she was a major player in the Dark Story she was never actually on their side. To suddenly make her the villain for the third movie just makes no sense.
