Jeff Grubb: Metroid Prime 2 Remastered coming “relatively soonish” and something Zelda series related this year

Samus in Metroid Prime Remastered for Switch

Journalist and industry insider, Jeff Grubb, has said in a new video that Metroid Prime 2 Remastered will be arriving “relatively soonish,” which is fantastic news to hear as Metroid Prime Remastered was excellent. He also said that something The Legend of Zelda-related is also happening later this year, though he says it is not related to the critically acclaimed The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. What this announcement will be is anyones guess, but it seems it won’t be downloadable content for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Here’s what was said by Jeff Grubb:

“Metroid Prime 2 Remastered probably is coming out relatively soonish, that is happening. That probably is happening relatively soonish, this next phrase, I’m afraid to say so I might not actually say it. Listen… I don’t know what it means, I’m gonna tell you what they told me and if you take this and you spin it into something else everybody, it’s on you. Okay, it’s on you.”

“It’s gonna be mostly what people want, right. It’s gonna have the modern controls and it’s gonna be HD and things like that but it’s not gonna get the love and care that Metroid Prime got, no.”

“Something not related to Tears of the Kingdom is happening with Zelda later this year.”

  1. Here’s what I think will happen:
    – A 2.5D Zelda Game that is either going to be a Remake of the GBA Zelda Games or possibly a new Top Down 2.5D Zelda game.
    – Metroid Prime 2 Remaster to replace Prime 4 as that game will be releasing in 2024 alongside the new console

    1. No point of doing a remake of Minish Cap when we just got it on NSO.
However! The Oracles games are suspiciously left out.

  2. I really didn’t enjoy Echoes half as much as Prime 1. I’m still disappointed that the whole trilogy wasn’t just fully remastered in the first place.
Still – win/win for the fans.

  3. Here’s what i think will happen, everyone will jump to a conclusion and make predictions. Then, if they guess right they go on social media and brag that their educated guess was right and boost their own ego.

  4. This is obviously just a wish from me but I personally would be down for a Hyrule Warriors 2. Yeah I know we got Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity but I mean more like the first 1 with characters from across the series with an adventure mode and original story.
I did like Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity but I felt it wasn’t as good as the first one.

    1. Personally, I think Age of Calamity was better.
More so the fact it felt like a proper Zelda/Warriors mixed game where it relied more on the ip it was adapting from; Instead of being just a Warriors game with a Zelda skin like the 1st one.

      1. +firepistol95
Fortunately for me that wasn’t an issue because I’ve never played a Dynasty Warriors game in my life.
But I can understand that being an issue for people that have.

    1. As someone who is still playing tears of the kingdom, I am good on Zelda content for the year; ask for the Metroid prime 2 rumors, I honestly prefer that game to Metroid prime one anyway as long as I don’t have to hunt down any stinking shows all relics

  5. I’m actually hoping for a TotK related DLC story expansion for Age of Calamity. It wouldn’t be out of place, either, as Hyrule Warriors technically did it when it was re-released on 3DS. I wouldn’t mind paying 30-40 for it if it was a significant expansion.

  6. Uhh Im gonna be shock if we get a Zelda related game for fall like if we do it’s probably gonna be some sort of spinoff when do they even plan on releasing it October/November are fill with first party games so I can really only see December being free for a Zelda game.

  7. It was so funny listening to the last of the nintendogs show and knowing someone would write this off as actual news hahaha

  8. If it’s just an HD texture upscale I’ll stick to the Wii version. The remastered graphics was the only reason to put up with worse controls for the first game.
