Red Dead Redemption Remaster seemingly coming to Nintendo Switch

Logo for the long rumoured Read Dead Redemption remaster

Rockstar Games seems to be ploughing on ahead for a remaster for the beloved Red Dead Redemption, which made its debut back in 2010 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles. A new remaster has yet to be announced by Rockstar, but it is seemingly in the works. Today, a Twitter dataminer discovered a new logo for the remaster along with placeholders for a Nintendo Switch version. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version are also listed as they are the original consoles. It is not clear whether the remaster will come to the Switch or whether it will be a simpler port of the original Red Dead Redemption game. It really all depends on how much work is going into the remaster. It seems likely that |the Red Dead Redemption remaster will be announced in the very near future.

  1. I hope a Red Dead Redemption remaster is in the works, but then again i kinda don’t because RDR is already the definition of perfection a true masterpiece. I loved RDR don’t get me wrong i just hope if R* remasters it they get it right unlike the GTA trilogy.

    1. I have to agree. just hope it’s a remaster and not adding any woke culture as that bullshit has to stop!

    2. If it’s a remaster then fine but no changing the dialouge to shut the woke extremists up but then again rockstar havent caved in to the stupidity humanity has become now.

  2. First rdr is empty world :( after missions and hunting every animals gameplay is booring. In mountains on east still bears kill your horse (and you) and on west is empty walley with few cemetery and church. No secrets, no rpg mechanics, no side missions. Only zombie dlc is little more fun. Pc players think rdr1 is great but no!

  3. If RDR itself, the original game, came to the Switch but with some minor improvements to performance, I’d be very happy to get it for Switch

  4. If it is indeed coming to Switch, that seems to imply this remaster will only be a relativly small upgrade visually. The Switch wouldn’t be capable of running a game will similar graphics to RDR2.
Well, at the very least I hope this will be done better than that garbage fire of the GTA Trilogy “remaster” was.

    1. Ah yes, I love the current state of the video game industry. Make remasters so you don’t have to make a new game. Laziness and greed at it’s finest. F**k Rockstar. They already ruined GTA online, made a terrible remaster and have taken twice the amount of time to make a sequel as there was time between previous GTA titles. It’s all it’s about now is money. You would think that making the consumer happy would get you more money than the classic strategy of today’s economy of, keep your consumers at the brink of not being able to afford your product that you’ve spent the last decade seeing how many corners you can cut to make it cheaper to produce. Then make it more expensive to further increase that profit margin. Because they know that the consumer will keep buying it until there’s a better option on the market, which usually doesn’t matter anyways because people just buy brand name. Love it. I miss the early 2000s-2010s era of gaming. It was hard to pick which game was GOTY because they were all great. Now it’s hard to just pick a couple nominees.

      1. Still, I will never touch my n64 and PS1 ever again , simply because it looks like crap and feels like shit compared to modern controlls.

Because of these remasters , we now have a amazing Final Fantasy 7 trilogy one of the best RPG’s in history specially with the impact it had at the time and Resident Evil 2,3,4 wich where great at the time and the new releases are highly rated all over again. In that regard Pixel games like the Snes are more timeless altough some could use smoother controls like modern games in the style of that time. For some games it’s definitly worth it , they even deserve this treatment cause they are timeless masterpieces.

Thats why I think Nintendo should make better consoles and graphics do matter , cause certrain franchises only deserve the best.

        1. The only franchises that matter on Nintendo consoles are 1st party Nintendo games. And most of their games on their own console have been “the best” regardless of the hardware spec. If you’re a Nintendo gamer you should’ve known this.

  5. That would be awesome. I know most people have probably played a lot of these ports before but I have to say I’m very happy the Switch is getting so many 3rd party games. On other consoles I missed out on games Borderlands 1-2&Pre-sequel, Portal 1 and 2, Bioshock 1-infinite, Wolfenstein 2, Doom 2016 and eternal, bulletstorm, dying light, nier automata, resident evil 5 and 6, modern ninja gaiden 1-3, alien isolation and a lot more. they’re all on switch and I get to play them on the go!

And I’m happy all of the darksiders series is on switch. i get to replay darksiders 1 and 2 and can play genesis and DS3 as well. Same with the Batman collection coming soon. It’s true most of these are just ports of old games that most people have already played but personally, as someone who has yet to play a lot of these prior to owning a Switch, I see it as the Switch becoming an absolute goldmine for on-the-go gaming.

  6. Im guessing it will be better than the sequel which was so incredibly boring and frustrating to me. I couldnt really play the way I like and had to endure the damn story the whole time. Role playing is met with punitive responses that remove the fun
