Game Freak shares Pokémon Scarlet & Violet concept art

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet developers Game Freak showed attendees at the CEDEC Awards panel in Japan some the concept art and in-game visuals they were trying to implement in the two most recent Pokemon games. The Japanese company was attempting to implement an idea which the company dubs “real and deformed”. This means that the game’s background and environment would take on a more realistic approach, while the actual Pokémon and various NPCs would have a more stylised look. You can check out some the art and in-game visuals down below.

          1. I don’t think you know what “conpsiratorial” means.

It’s a japanese website where employees and contractors can leave reviews for their companies. The video just simply looked into Gamefreak’s reviews and there’s a clear pattern. Well… the pattern is clear just by looking at the products alone imo.

But yeah, go ahead and act like you know more than a Game Freak employee. Should be interesting.

              1. Imagine lurking on a “Nintendo” fourm telling people “go outside” You do realize that people can take a Nintendo Switch outside, right? I mean, im not sure wtf you expect people was posting about on a “Nintendo” fourm.

              2. I posted a link. You got worked up over me posting a link that criticizes a children’s monster catching game.

                go inside

  1. Its fucked up how much better it looked in concept and the fact TCPi are only JUST now considering slowing down the pace of releases shows how little respect they have for the fans.
It also Implies TCPi are the ones in control of the pace of release rather than the devs having control over their own games which should absolutely not be the case.
The fact that SV look as bad as they do, run as badly as they do and tax the Switch worse than bigger games like BotW or Dragon Quest 11S is shameful.
I don’t know who exactly is at fault but whoever it is needs to do better.

  2. Imagine if they had actually built the game from the concept art.

Almost makes me wonder why they’re even making it public in the first place. Are they deliberately trying to sell the Scarlet and Violet development story as a failure? I mean, don’t get me wrong here: I actually liked the games – but you can’t show concept art like that, then screenshots from the final game that looks just SO much worse, and be like: “Hey, look what we accomplished!”
