Capcom reiterates they have an unannounced game that will sell millions by March 2024

Capcom has once again stated that they have a video game in the works which they expect to be immensely popular and that it will be released in March 2024. The news was shared during their investors’ question and answer session following the company’s financial results. The Monster Hunter series would be a safe bet for the unnamed video game as it has been a while since the Sunbreak expansion for Monster Hunter Rise was released. Their previous game, Monster Hunter World, was the biggest-selling game by the company in its long-running history.

Q: How do you plan to achieve the sales goal for new titles for this financial year?

A: In the second half of this FY, we plan to release Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy in January in addition to a currently unannounced major title. Moreover, we plan to boost the sales figures of new titles of the first half of this FY to achieve the target.

Q: How do you think of the sales goal of 45 million copies of console titles? Taking into account the first half of this FY, wouldn’t it be difficult to achieve it?

A: We are planning a major title in the second half of this FY. Additionally, we originally planned to achieve the goal mainly by focusing on sale events in the second half of this FY to boost the sales figures of our catalogue titles.

            1. 2 things) I get that World is MH5, Capcom has stated that it’s a mainline game, but they have also said that Rise is a mainline game. Not under the 5th generation, but a mainline game, making it MH6, right? Or wrong?
Also, in the 2020 Capcom leaks they said that MH6 had a 2023/2024 release date. So it’s most likely MH6 😂

              1. Goin by your logic then MHRise would’ve been MH9; Freedom 1 (enhanced port of MH G), Dos, Freedom Unite, MH3U, MHP3rd, MH4U, MHGU, MHW and then Rise.

So it’s best to keep in-line with every 2 entries making up a gen, unless specified otherwise internally by Capcom or the games code.
Probably doesn’t help that they are ditching numbers in their titling, so its just gonna confuse people.

                1. Yeah let’s not do that. My “logic” is numbering the games that they have called main line games. Which they have gone on record and called both rise and world main line games. They have never called any from the portable team a mainline game.

    1. Probably Zelda the Minnish Cap remake given how Capcom is also claiming they also have a garenteed multi million sellar before March 2024 and since TLoZ Minnish Cap was developed by Capcom and is Nintendo IP I’m guessing it’s that, especially since the last Zelda Anniversary barely gave us anything other than Skyward Sword and TotK.
I’m most likely wrong though because a Minnish Cap remake, or even at least a switch port, would be too much like right but I would be happy if if I’m right because that’s one Zelda game I’ve always wanted.
If I’m right I’m praying it was remade using the new engine used for the recent games but co developed by Capcom, but like I said that would be too much like right coningvfrom Nintendo and Capcom.

    1. No chance is it Mega Man. That isn’t a multi million seller. Its best days are long behind it and they were on the NES. It’s either Monster Hunter or Resident Evil. Mark my words.

  1. I think it’s either Megaman, Resident Evil or something random like Dragons Dogma remake or sequel. Unless they got off there ass and completed Megaman Legends 3 which I think would actually do the numbers they are talking about.

    1. As much as I would want Legends 3, I don’t really see it helping Capcom move to those 45 million units for that year. It’s most likely RE or MH. They don’t really have other Major IP’s other than RE, MH or SF.

      1. Capcom is focusing more on microtransactions in their games than actually making good content, look at MHworld, MH Rise, RE2-4 Remake, that company is slowly moving towards a microtransaction focused practice while making less and less meaningful content.
They are going back down the same hole they were in back when they were locking on disc dlc behind a paywall.
Remember this is the same company that put the true ending of Asura’s Wrath behind a paywall.

        1. Maaaan!! I forgot about that whole Asura’s Wrath fiasco. What a shame, that was actually a fun (movie?) Game. As bad as they are now, the Capcom of the mid 2000’s was a terror to gaming. I hope they don’t revert to that again.

        2. That was more so the devs than Capcom themselves since they wanted to treat the game as an “anime ep weekly release” kinda shit. (Even a former dev came out and said this)
Wait for release then pay for it.

        3. It is weird you didn’t call out the one game that they actually did harm with pay walls: Sf5. Rise also had way too many, though it’s pay walls didn’t affect gameplay, so I blame the reduced quality (compared to World, it’s still fine quality on its own) on the Switch being a weak/outdated system.

The games you DID mention were some of Capcoms best titles. Why are you spreading misinformation? There are plenty of reasons microtransactions are bad, and there are better examples of games, including Capcom’s games, you could have mentioned over attacking their best modern titles.

          1. I didn’t mention those games because it was obvious to everyone those games were riddled with mtx, I only pointed out the time frame of when Capcom began to return to doing petty greedy monetization in their games again.

    2. The dragons dogma sequel was announced a while ago. And DD isn’t exactly a huge seller. They’re just appeasing Itsuno so he doesn’t leave.

It’s most certainly MH or RE. Both are due for a new title announcement and both easily sell millions. Capcom is sounding super bold in their predictions, so it’s one of their two largest titles.

I’m surprised people haven’t let Legends go, wasn’t canceled like a decade ago?

  2. Crapcon and their unwanted microtransaction fill trash, every game they released lately is filled with trash microtransaction nonsense and they spend more time on developing microtransactions than actual game content.
This company never learned their lesson after the whole dlc preloaded on discs incident and I’m pretty sure Dragon’s Dogma 2 and every game they push out will focus more on greedy monetization over actual good content.

  3. “Please don’t give us battle network 7 featuring Crashman.EXE Capcom, or any new Mega Man title for that matter, anything but that! Can’t we get the same resident evil game over and over again instead? Or a sequel to monster hunter world available on every system except Nintendo systems with even less collaborations with Nintendo? Or yet another new IP no one asked for? Oh, I know, why not marvel vs Capcom infinite 2 which resolves the cliffhanger of the previous one but actually it’s just spider-man kissing Mega Man’s unconscious body?” Is what I would say if I told Capcom what they want to hear. Sometimes, I hate living in the future.

  4. Mega Man Legends Trilogy!
    Nintendo Vs. Capcom: Ultimate Fighters
    1942 3D
Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers 3
    Darkwing Duck 2

    1. I unironically would love a Nintendo vs Capcom. Nintendo and Capcom are long overdue for some alone time together. It’s always Sega this or Marvel that.

  5. Crapcon with their unwelcome microtransaction full crap, every game they published lately is riddled with trash microtransaction nonsense and they spend more effort on developing microtransactions than actual game stuff.
