We all know that the Nintendo Switch has been a huge success for Nintendo with consoles continuing to fly off store shelves. Now it seems as Nintendo’s current platform has been the most popular for The Pokemon Company with the mainline Pokemon series shifting over 96 million units thus far. This means that the Switch has beaten stalwarts such as the Game Boy and Game Boy Advance which sold a total of 75.81 million mainline Pokemon games. We have still got a new mainline Pokemon entry Pokemon Z-A arriving on the system early next year, so it will be interesting to see what overall Pokemon sales on Switch look like next year.

Yet it has the blandest and worst-running main Pokemon games.
I guess that makes sense. The kids who grew up with Pokemon are now adults with kids who they can get into Pokemon… with the adults still also buying Pokemon games for themselves.
And despite all it’s critics, there’s really very few Pokemon fans who stop buying Pokemon games.
Yes true, but the franchise attracted older people and adults well. The franchise was intended to be for kids only back then but after seeing other gamers and fans who play the game on the handheld and on next gen systems, it attracted many adults between 20, 40s and 50s to help boost sales for each generation of Pokemon games for the franchise.
Some people stop playing the franchise because they went on with their lives and do something different by finding more ways tp entertain themselves to prevent themselves on being bored out of their minds or focus on their dreams like their careers and hanging out with their friends and families by spending time with them.
Personally, apart from the remakes of the ruby and sapphire versions, I didn’t like the switch versions at all. They have clearly run out of ideas for years
that wasn’t on switch
The Ruby and Sapphire remakes were on the Nintendo 3DS, not the Switch.
They have a Disney protection for years now, they keep selling absolutely awful pieces of garbage and their franchise will only get bigger, scarlet and violet were not even half finished, they were at beta testing, rushed and unpolished messes, you can like them I don’t care, but if you can’t accept the fact that these titles had major issues, that means that game freak owns you and you will bend down no matter how awful newer products will be.
Well. That’s not good.
Hopefully they reinvest those profits into development costs. Legends Arceus was genuinely one of the best things to come out from them since the 3DS/DS Era, and Legends Z looks like it’s getting a healthy amount of time to sit in the oven and cook.
My theory is that will hold us over on Switch 2 until we see a true next generation Pokémon title on that platform that reviews and is received extremely well. The Switch 2 is their best shot at hitting super high levels of success with fans, I think. So I’m hopeful!
Oh this comment section is going to be smacking their keyboards ahahahahahha. Scarlet and Violet #1 baby easily best pokemon games to this date none even compare and oh look that loser tentri is commenting on literally every page what a cool guy
That tentri guy has too much time on their hands. But link2metroid is still the worst troll on this site tbh.
Look man I’m not trying to be rude when I ask this but I’m genuinely curious: how can you consider scarlet and violet to be the best Pokémon games? Technical issues aside the only redeeming factor was Arvens story and that was only a very small part of the game.
Exploration and Pokémon in the open world. Can organically fill the pokedex as you’re playing the game. I am aware of the technical issues but at least you’re free to do as you please instead of a very set course with cutscenes every 5 seconds like every other Pokémon game before it
Switch is also home to the 3 worst Pokemon games of all time: the very worst being Scarlet and Violet, followed by BDSP, then Sword and Shield.
