Japan: Nintendo bringing Switch to elder care facilities to help keep seniors minds active

Nintendo Switch Sports characters plus joy-cons

Nintendo has announced a new initiative it is piloting in Japanese care homes which sees Switch consoles being put into care facilities to help older citizens keep their minds and bodies active. You may remember that the Kyoto-based company did similar things with the Wii, specifically using Wii Sports, so seniors could play Wii Bowling and Wii Tennis, and it proved to be a big success with the residents. It is not clear whether Nintendo is planning to expand this initiative to other countries, though it could certainly be on the cards.

    1. Nah, not really. Nintendo done this before. This would help them keep them happy and set their minds a ease from seniors loneliness. They just want to have fun again like they were before.

  1. If im ever in an elder care facility i hope they have a Nintendo or some form of entertainment besides cross word puzzles and wheelchair races.
