The latest video game software and hardware charts for the United States, during the month of October, have come through from Circana, which was formerly known as the NPD Group. The best-selling video game platform was Sony’s PlayStation 5 in both units sold and dollar sales. The Nintendo Switch family of systems came in second for units sold but came in third for dollar sales. On the software side of things, it was Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 which was No. 1 and Super Mario Bros.Wonder landed at No. 2, though it should be noted that Nintendo doesn’t provide Circana with digital sales figures from the eShop. Here are the best-selling games for October 2023:

- Madden 24
- EA Sports FC
- Mortal Kombat 1

Well that’s embarrassing for Nintendo. The Switch install base absolutely dwarfs that of PS5. So for Spider-Man 2 to outsell Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Nintendo’s flagship mascot, is nothing short of humiliating.
what did you expect of the two of the biggest characters “against” each other, Mario did well on the other hand the blued hedgehog?…well, got embarrassed again.
Humiliating is how Sonic which is a multiplatform game (something Mario nor Spidey aren’t) sold less and this is coming after how sega bloated how the movie “revitalised” the franchise, Spider-man and Mario are way bigger and better than Sonic and i feel happy that those two games sell exceptionally well.
Look at it this way, it just shows the demand in physical over digital for PS5. This gives high hopes for the Record Exchange future and borrowing your favorite cousin’s games.

Spider-Man 2 also comes in a bundle with a PS5, so you have to take that into account. These are not just single sales.
Super Mario Bros Wonder is way better than Spider Man 2, Super Mario Bros Wonder is going to be the game of the year of 2023 , I definitely don’t want Zelda Tears of the Kingdom to win it, no more Zelda games , it’s getting old and boring, Super Mario Bros Wonder should be number one and Sonic Superstars should be number two

Im not making any predictions or saying that Spiderman 2 is better then Super Mario Bros Wonder. Spiderman has potential for being GOTY, haven’t played Super Mario Bros Wonder so i personally can’t say what games better. But i can say im not just stating stuff as fact like Super Mario Bros Wonder will be GOTY.
