Microsoft has been courting studios as of late for acquisition, and its most recent deal with Activision Blizzard finally went through. SEGA is one company which the firm was gunning for; however, SEGA’s chief operating officer says that no deal is on the cards. He says that they feel honoured that companies are interested in acquiring SEGA, but he concluded by saying, “I don’t think that kind of transaction is going to happen.”

“Many companies are interested. We feel honored. We have attractive IPs and potentials. Companies owned by the owner. A strong owner. I don’t think that kind of transaction is going to happen.”

      1. Was it even a rumor? It was leaked off the court documents from the FTC vs MS case. That’s how we know they wanted to buy Sega, Valve, Square Enix (back in 99) and Nintendo, wether it was an out right buy out, or a merger. It’s all well documented. The new piece of information here is that MS ISNT the only one wanting to buy Sega. So it’s safe to assume either Nintendo (very unlikely) or Sony has talked about an acquisition with them (very likely.)
