  1. A game from a garbage excuse of an IP (and I’m not just saying that because JK Rowling is against trans, I always hated Harry Potter) was the best selling game of last year? Was 2023 really that bad?

    1. -HP is huge in the UK. It’s not surprising at all. It’s like US being crazy for CoD.
-The game is genuinely good, a bit rough on the edges but very good for a first attempt. I, for one, know that there’s no need to bash a piece of work because of whatever the creator says or does. Pity most people don’t think like that and ended up snubbing it completely. Also the game has a very decent Switch port.
-In hindsight… yes, 2023 was bad. TGA was proof of that: tons of sequels/remakes, winners that didn’t make any sense whatsoever.

  2. I’m British and I hate Harry Potter. It’s all based on boarding schools and an aspirational, wannabe upper-class, cultural narrative.

  3. The “last week” and “this week” numbers are backwards for Hogwarts Legacy. Must be an error in the original report as it’s like that on every website.
