Interestingly we found out yesterday that a new Sonic game is likely to appear at tomorrow’s State of Play presentation by Sony. It is apparently a remaster/remake of the well-received Sonic Generations, which launched on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo 3DS in 2011. The new game will apparently be titled Sonic X Shadow Generations to tie into the third Sonic movie and was retweeted by the original leaker. There’s also a temporary website for Sonic X Shadow Generations, which has yet to go live. We will have to wait and see what transpires.

So are we getting a classic version of Shadow even though it never existed prior? I like Shadow, but this is weird. This game was originally meant to celebrate classic and modern Sonic gameplay. Shoehorning Shadow in when he doesn’t belong is off putting.
I’m confused – why are automatically assuming this is a remaster/remake of Sonic Generations from 2011, and not an actual SEQUEL to that game???
