Nintendo Switch “rebootless” update released

When Nintendo normally releases an update for the Nintendo Switch‘s firmware, it results in a version number change and, at the very least, a handful of changes that had been made confirmed via patch notes. For these updates to finish, the console is required to reboot itself.

Well, Nintendo has decided to release another “rebootless” update tonight. These don’t require the console to reboot, and they generally don’t do anything significant to the firmware. In fact, Nintendo doesn’t even release patch notes for these. That said, you can see a tweet relaying what the rebootless update did change down below.

  1. I remember when these updates use to be fun like giving us more pfps (too bad that’s been replace with the crappy spend my Nintendo currency to unlock cool pfp) and organize storage and much more.

  2. Don’t mind me, just sitting here waiting for Nintendo to reactivate Nintendo WFC. They can’t keep it down forever.

  3. I hope Nintendo continues to provide regular updates and, ideally, shares more information about the changes made in these “rebootless” updates soccer skills world cup. It would be beneficial for users to have a clearer understanding of the improvements being made to their gaming experience.
