Mario Maker Wii U has 1 unbeaten level left with 3 weeks until online server closure

Super Mario Maker 2 has been a thing on the Nintendo Switch for 5 years now, and it isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. However, it is a much different story for its predecessor. Super Mario Maker on the Wii U is around 3 weeks away from being unplayable online due to Nintendo shutting down the 3DS and Wii U’s online services.

That all said, you may be surprised to learn that the original Mario Maker still has one level left that no one has been able to finish. It’s called “Trimming the Herbs”, and it was created by Ahoyoo. The level can be beaten in 16 seconds, but it’s a Kaizo-esque level that requires lots of skill to complete. Players have until April 8th, when the online servers close, to beat the level.

  1. Wasn’t this level already beaten? I heard the confirmation yesterday and saw the video of it being beat on Reddit

  2. That means that my levels, good and mediocre, have all been played and beaten. I would like to see their perspective on them, but I bet there are hundreds of hours of footage of them going through every level; finding mine would be like looking for a needle in a haystack…

    1. I’m sure they didn’t beat every level uploaded… just the levels that hadn’t been beaten by anybody yet.

I mean, I could be wrong but I think that’s a reasonable task than trying to beat every single uploaded level.

  3. It’s both fascinating and bittersweet that the legacy of Super Mario Maker on the Wii U could end with an unbeaten challenge, capturing the spirit of community and skill that defined the game’s era.

  4. The truth came out, ahoyo confirms that the level trimming the herbs was uploaded illegitimate using a TAS or tool assistance
