GitLab confirms it’s removed Suyu the new Nintendo Switch emulator

GitLab has confirmed today that it has removed all traces of the new and upcoming Nintendo Switch emulator Suyu, which had grand plans to resume where Yuzu left off. GitLab says that it received a DMCA takedown notice for Suyu and subsequently complied. GitLab also said that it has disabled the accounts of Suyu developers.

  1. lol deserved to be honest, look im pro emulation and all. but they were smug as hell with that name and the team was filled with a bunch of incompentent people that were just there to get called the heroes of emulation ready to fight against le evil corpo, hopefully we will get a new team of people working on switch emulation that just do it for passion and not just a bunch of clout chasers like the people behind dolphin, i knew this wouldn’t last long.

    1. There are a bunch of entitled Karens defending piracy cuz they were upset they can’t get “free games”. These people hide behind games preservation to justify not buying and making backups which makes legit people who are pro preservation look bad. I’m also pro preservation and I agree with your comment. Hope the next one is humbled and actually discourages piracy and promotes supporting game devs. Heck even cracking groups say I’m their read me’s about them not supporting piracy and says if you like the game buy it.

  2. Hopefully someone else will take their place. Nintendo are acting the bully once again, throwing their financial weight around. The people behind these emulators don’t stand a chance against a corporation with limitless funds by comparison, to drag this through the courts in perpetuity, if necessary. Making individuals lives hell, while nobody at Nintendo would lose a wink of sleep over the matter.

    1. do it babe, those brain cells can be stretched more!!!

Keep the good work with those mental gymnastics of yours.

  3. Ok. Now it’s time to remove the excessive ads from this site. Wore out it’s welcome in like, 10 seconds. Please.

      1. i’d support a space for ads, i love this site if you can put a little ad on the site i wouldn’t mind at all, you guys need some support

    1. They’ve always been quite bad, depending on the content of the article. They need to do some legitimate moderation, but considering these emulation articles are driving a lot of engagement, I don’t think the site owners/curators actually care about the content of the comments (at least they’re tacitly showing they don’t care by leaving them this way). I think the only time they ever did anything about it was a couple years ago when an article started getting a LOT of transphobic vitriol; and even then, they just stopped comments on that one article. There are still lots of extant articles from the past several years that have just tons of misogynistic and transphobic comments, aside from people getting really, really, really upset at piracy and making impotent personal attacks on other users on these emulation articles they’ve gotten into lately.

I will randomly pop in every once in a while, see it’s still this bad, and leave. I’ve pretty much given up on this site and look at it less and less as time goes on simply because I don’t want to end up scrolling past the article and seeing shit like the dude attacking Link2Metroid (above) being left as is, even as Sickr is talking to another person about advertisements. Sickr must have seen it; it has an earlier timestamp than the person he replied to. If they had moderation tools it would be a quick fix to stop harassment. It sucks!

    2. They’re still pretty bad, but they seem to have improved slightly from a couple of weeks ago at least.
At least that dude who was going around randomly calling people “doughy manchildren”, among other things, on literally every single post under a bunch of different alts seems to have touched some grass finally.
They really should implement better moderation though, beyond just purging spam comments.

  4. I only came to this site because Nintendo N’ Stuff (YouTube channel) went tits up, sometime after ScrewAttack killed Hard News, and after Nintendo Power and Nintendo Week died.
