Nintendo says Switch 2 will be officially announced before the end of March 2025

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has officially confirmed this morning that the successor to the Nintendo Switch will be announced within this fiscal year which runs until March 2025. Mr. Furukawa also said that they will be holding a Nintendo Direct presentation this June to showcase the upcoming slate of Nintendo Switch games for 2024, though the Switch 2 won’t be announced at this June event.

  1. Mega hyped. Though I am struggling to find something new to play. Hopefully we get a last surprise in June, if not I’ll have to wait till August and October, respectively, for something new.

  2. But very reliable trolls on this site assured us the Switch 2 doesn’t exist!!!! Idk what to believe anymore!!!

    1. I never said that Nintendo won’t release a new console… I said that the Switch 2 doesn’t exist, this implies that Nintendo won’t just make a more powerful Switch, it’s against their policy…. And for those who don’t believe it, think about the failure of the Wii U or the 3DS which is Nintendo’s least sold handheld console These 2 systems were far too similar to their predecessors, including in terms of name…… And you don’t have to be smart to figure it out

      1. I believe I challenged you before on your commentary.
Against there policy how exactly ? Wii U and 3DS (which was a commercial sucess) were both more powerful and platform sequels.

        1. I can’t send my full answer so I’ll just say that the 3DS was a commercial success but not a success for Nintendo, selling below the ps360 and the first console where they quickly lowered the price because it wasn’t selling…So you just have to think from there…

      2. You won’t even know if it’s powerful enough to handle any third party games. So, people don’t have to be smart to figure out what specs and chip it has inside the system.

    1. “It’s (not) a secret to everybody.” It was always implicit that they were developing a new system, they always say they are doing so in their interviews of past years.

      1. It kinda was a secret because it was never Officially announced and people kept making claims about this and that.

        1. After 7 years it was just a matter of time before an official announcement. The way you guys are saying sounds like it wasn’t obvious that a sucessor would be coming sooner or later. Kimishima always said the Switch would be in the market for a long time, not forever.

          1. “The way you guys are saying sounds like it wasn’t obvious that a sucessor would be coming sooner or later.”

This is literally my comment in a nutshell it’s complete sarcasm and not meant to be taken so literally lol

    2. It’s not always that simple because Nintendo always good on keeping secrets and they want to make sure nothing else gets leak or no one leaks anything to the public before the big announcement unlike what happened last time when a Nintendo employee got tricked.

  3. Time for all the leaks and rumours to flood in for the next 10 months until we get an official reveal Direct which I’m predicting sometime in November, which I think would be a good spot to give a release date for March 2025
