Stardew Valley creator ConcernedApe has told a fan on social media platform X that he will never ever charge for additional downloadable content for any of his games and he asks users to screenshot the post and to shame him if he ever violates his oath. The news came in response to a post asking about what’s happening to the console and mobile versions of Stardew Valley, which have yet to receive the latest update, which ConcernedApe has said he is working diligently on.

Gangsta. There have been a really positive wave of videogame devs tired of the low standards of the videogame industry recently, I still haven’t played stardew valley but I heard nothing but good things about it
Updates should never be priced anyway, since they’re just that, updates. You shouldn’t be charged for updating the game.

I don’t mind buying DLC if the base game was fully developed and flushed out to the maximum
