You may recall that, a few months ago, Microsoft‘s Xbox team had announced that they were shutting down multiple studios. One of them was Tango Gameworks, the developer studio behind Hi-Fi Rush. It was the latest in an unfortunate series of layoffs and closures that has been plaguing the video gaming industry this year.
Well, there is some good news to share. Krafton, which is the publisher of PUBG: Battlegrounds, has announced that they have acquired the company and the Hi-Fi Rush IP. Krafton says that, not only want the team to continue supporting the IP, but they even want Tango Gameworks to “explore future projects”. Games that were already released, including Hi-Fi Rush, will not be impacted by this and will continue to remain available where they are currently available.

Good. Everything Microsoft did like shadow dropping it with little to no fanfare and having it on Gamepass day 1 is like they WANTED it to fail, so I’m glad the IP still has a fighting chance.
Amazing how much Microsoft paid for these developers and, as usual since they’re the absolute worst company in gaming, doesn’t care about them in the slightest.
Good news but still, this shit is dystopic as fuck. Microsoft milked every inch of soul from these developers, they shadowdropped an incredible product in their shitty streaming service and after an incredible praise from critics and fans they said, “fuck it. This shit isn’t profitable like free to plays with battlepasses, shut the studio down and fire all those bastards” Big fuck you to Microsoft and I hope nothing but bad luck for their business.
