Video: Sonic “Something About Shadow” animation

in a little over a month from now, Sonic X Shadow Generations will be officially releasing on multiple platforms, including the Nintendo Switch. Whenever there is a new Sonic the Hedgehog game coming soon, SEGA likes to collaborate with Sonic fans. This includes various fans that also happen to produce animations.

This is no exception. SEGA has announced an animation collaboration with Terminal Montage. The animation is called “Something About Shadow the Hedgehog”, and it provides a quick look at Shadow the Hedgehog’s history. You can see the video down below from an official Sonic the Hedgehog social media post.

  1. I love that Sega collaborates with the community like this. Imagine if Nintendo was a bit more accepting of their fan base…
    if only

      1. Nintendo can be pretty close to online influencers, especially those that extensively cover Nintendo games, but when it comes to Nintendo fans that create cool animations, music remixes, and other creative projects, Nintendo is far less than amicable with them.

SEGA doing a cross promotion collaboration with TerminalMontage and their crew is by far more than Nintendo has ever done in this realm of entertainment. For example, I noticed several high quality audio rips that had to have been given to TerminalMontage in order to make this more accurate to the source material. Nintendo is a pretty great company by most comparisons, but they would never give a YouTube any of their assets.

Nintendo is very selective when it comes to who they invite to promote their products, but I’m not saying that’s a bad thing. This is just a case of two different companies with two different policies. No harm no foul imo

        1. You are right, they have different policies and views. It is like how the Sonic social media where they chat with fans like if Sonic is talking. It is marketing. Nintendo does a different kind of promotion.
