Miyamoto: Virtual Boy is being emulated on the Switch at Nintendo Museum

The Nintendo Museum is set to be a dream attraction for Nintendo fans in The Land of the Rising Sun. The legend that is Shigeru Miyamoto has explained to IGN that one of the displays will be Virtual Boy-themed and that to enable people to try out their-fated system’s games the Kyoto-based company has managed to emulate the twenty games on the Nintendo Switch family of systems. This means that we could certainly see Virtual Boy games arrive on Nintendo Switch Online in the future.

“Also, I think that Virtual Boy is a hard thing that is not often seen in the world, but this is also on display. I’m using the Switch to emulate Virtual Boy, so if you take a peek, you can see a three-dimensional image of that time.”

    1. That was the first question that popped into my mind when I read this.

I imagine that Labo would help the experience should VB games actually come to Switch, but I’d like to think it won’t be a requirement- not everyone has Labo, after all, and I do believe it is out of print. Literally.
