Sometimes these lists include Nintendo games, and sometimes they don’t. So, it isn’t that surprising that another example of these lists from the gaming media has appeared earlier today.

  1. Def don’t agree with this list, too many games missing like lou2 and some of these games on this list are quite rubbish.
I especially think the order is way out, totk and bg3 should be right up there.

  2. debatable as fuck but hey, at least its not that shitty best zelda games list made by the new york post i guess, Baldur’s gate should be at least a top 5 for me

  3. The people who made this list are REALLY huffing some niche indies… And also clearly dislike certain games at the genre level. It’s just an opinion, but it’s my opinion there’s a lot of forgettable, derivative garbo used to snub polished titles on this list.

    1. Wordle had huge cultural impact and spawned literally thousands of similar games. You can’t really realistically compare it to a big-budget blockbuster like Tears of the Kingdom which obviously has so much money, time, effort and quality in it. Honestly, I find it one of the less questionable things going on with this list. Having the remake of Live A Live sitting above all those games certainly sits more strangely with me, for example.

  4. There’s no doubt that indies are at the forefront of most of what is good about gaming right now but I do think this particular list is too heavily weighted towards them. As mentioned previously, Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Pikmin 4 at the very least are worthy of this list from a Nintendo perspective, maybe Echoes of Wisdom too though that’s very recent. Also noticing that many beloved Sony games are absent, such as God of War Ragnorok, Astro Bot, and Spiderman 2. I never played any of these games but given the universal acclaim they’ve received they surely should be here.

The 2020s have been lacklustre from big budget studios for sure but not quite as lacklustre as this list is implying.
