Yoshi-P director and designer at Square Enix has stated in a new interview with Japanese site 4Gamer that he wishes to see both Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy Tactics on current platforms. He says that these landmark PlayStation games deserve to be played on modern hardware. Yoshi-P also admitted that he is a massive fan of both games director, Yasumi Matsuno. A remaster for Final Fantasy Tactics has been on the cards for quite some time now, but a re-release of the iconic Vagrant Story hasn’t previously been discussed.

If they did re-release them they are going to change it up for the non-existent audience aka the modern audience who will never play them. If Square-Enix was smart they would completely dump any dei consultants and actually listen to their core audience (the reasonable ones).

There was never anything stopping Square from making collections of these games in the same way they did for the FF ans Secret of Mana.

If they had made a proper FM collection (instead of those horrible remakes) with all of the games, with their original visuals upscale properly with current controls, I would have bought 2 copies, one to play and one for my collection.
Everything Yoshi-P touches turns to crap, I wouldn’t trust that fool to water plants let alone trust him with an Square IP, especially since ffxivarr+ is a woke circus and ffxvi is actually a step down from ffxivarr+, which means Yoshi-P is actually getting worse as time passes.

And that’s one hell of an overreaction on your part, where the hell did the topic of drugs come from?
I love Vagrant Story and FF Tactics. That said, the only thing I’d want them to update would be the visuals. I don’t need any plot content changes or unnecessary lore updates. They couldn’t just do that with FF8 or FF7 and I’m concerned how they’d alter the story to appease current western sensibilities.
