Sonic Team‘s Kazuyuki Hoshino Shun Nakamura and Katsuyuki Shigihara were all present at a special Indonesian Sonic fan meet event and they revealed a few tidbits about the long-running franchise. One of the things noted was that Shun Nakamura, who was the producer behind the recent Sonic X Shadow Generations, reiterated to the fans that he would love to remake the disastrous Sonic 06, which launched on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in November 2006. He said all older Sonic games are on the table.
Producer of Sonic x Shadow Generations wants to remake Sonic 06

Honestly yeah
Sonic fans needs better version sonic 06
Sounds like a great idea to me. Instead of putting their efforts into enhancing an already good game that doesn’t need enhancing, they should put that effort into making a horrible game good. After all, why remake something like Sonic Adventure which is already fine as-is when they could remake Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) which is borderline unplayable in its current state?
This means they would likely remove the Elise kiss from the game, which is a good thing. Never thought I’d see the day where someone at SEGA would mention a remake of Sonic 06
What elise would do instead of kissing sonic in the remake?
Why not? It makes as much sense as the rest of the Sonic franchise’s plethora of bad decisions.
This sounds like a bad idea, but honestly remaking a bad game seems way more interesting than remaking a masterpiece like resident evil 4. From what I heard about sonic 06 is that there is some really good stuff inside but the game was so rushed that it became almost unplayable. I hope they do it, would love to see how it goes.
The man-child inputs his typical uninformed opinions, ignored by all.
As long as it’s a version that fixes all the issues, this sounds like a game I would be excited for. But it almost needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. I want better in game physics, no glitches, a Silver fight that actually makes sense and so on.
Nah this is a worse idea for SEGA and Sonic Team. So……no.
Exactly the Fans did their own remake of the game that basically remade from the ground up from scratch it’s called project 06 I do think it’s a bad idea I don’t think they should touch that game at all since they never want associate anything with that game but it would be good for them to remake it from the ground up the main reason the game is rushed is because of the holiday when the game releases in a horrible state
Keep it in Engine like Shadow Generations, from Frontiers, and they may be onto something.
Remake Sonic ’06 before remaking Sonic Adventure 1 or 2???
I’m actually for it. Sonic 06 can only be improved, and do we seriously want a Sonic Adventure game made by the modern devs and writers? I can tell that I’d prefer the originals over that.
Nope. Nope. Nope.
Why do they want to come back to the game that almost KILLED THE ENTIRE SERIES??? (If not already for many people.)
If Mr Nakamura is serious about remaking Sonic 06, we need someone to introduce him to the project 06 modder TODAY!
Well, Project ’06 isn’t a mod, it’s an original game. But that game DOES have mods of its own.
The day Sonic 06 is remade officially is the day the gaming world will see one of the greatest redemptions of all time. This game had a lot more to give than it originally did which was buried deep beneath technical issues.
Could they please not? 06 left a stain on the franchise that is still felt to this day.
I would rather have a remake of Heroes or the Sonic Rush duo
Surprising! Looks like everyone’s going to super delighted, knowing that the super-infamous Sonic the Hedgehog video game, Sonic ’06 is getting the remake it so needs! I look forward to seeing some gameplay videos of it on YouTube one day!
Over saturated with Sonic as is. Now they want to remake a brown sheet stain. Lol
Why is that hard to realise that all we need is a Sonic Adventure 3?
But…wait…
Fans already beat him to the punch. And it’s called “Project 06” and according to some, it’s amazing (gameplay-wise).
It just needs a story that’s FAR better than what was originally presented.
