Riviera: The Promised Land remaster scores a western release on Switch later this month

Riviera: The Promised Land will now launch worldwide on November 28, after having released for the Nintendo Switch in Japan earlier this year.

A remaster of the 2004 Game Boy Advance game of the same name, it’s an RPG with dating sim elements and a story inspired by Norse myth.

It’s the first game in Sting Entertainment’s Dept. Heaven series, which was followed up by 2006’s Yggdra Union: We’ll Never Fight Alone, also for the GBA.

Here’s what the remaster brings to the table, according to its eShop page:

Remastered Additional Elements
・BGM change function with 5 types of sound sources!
・Play mode with up to 5x speed!
・Event skip function!
・All illustrations are available in HD!
・Reliable auto save function!
・Ease of play greatly improved by difficulty level and mode selection!
・Boost function that allows you to quickly learn skills!
・Improved user-friendly interface!
・Function to switch voices between Japanese and English!

Riviera: The Promised Land has a MSRP of $34.99, but is available on the Switch eShop for $29.74 at a 15% discount until December 5.

    1. The game has been around for well over 20 years. It was originally a wonder Swan game, ported to the GBA and then PSP. I want to the say the GBA port is the most popular one though.
