Rumour: The Reddit leaker delivers photo of supposed Switch 2 console

The Reddit leaker, which the mods on the Switch 2 subreddit verified, has taken his promised Christmas Day photo of the Nintendo Switch 2 console, minus the left and right Joy-Cons. Whether or not it is the real deal remains to be seen, and whether the moderators made the right call also remains to be seen. We won’t know for sure until Nintendo unveils the eagerly-awaited follow up to the popular Nintendo Switch which is due next year.

      1. Another thing is, the side of the console showed in the picture (left side of the console) has a plus sign, but on the left side of the current Nintendo Switch there is a correspondent joycon with a minus button. So it looks fake and they fumbled their apparent 3d printed mockup.

          1. Apparently someone did a test on it see if it’s AI Generated… 99% AI Generated, Midjourney being the software.

So yeah, it’s fake and this guy was faking it the whole time.

I know we’re all desperate for Switch 2 News, but it’s always good to wait for REAL information

  1. This is hardly news. Even if it is real, we already know what it looks like thanks to 3rd party manufacturers jumping the gun showing us the new device wrapped in their protective cases.

    1. Dbrand is known for marketing stunts, while the other supposedly leaks by 3rd party chinese manufactures don’t even have a name for the “companies” that leaked them. There is not even a link to their sites. Don’t believe in rumors and leaks like they are something confirmed. They could be just 3d models and 3d printed fake mockups, like how the one from this very same post looks like.

      1. Literally multiple 3rd party companies have the same device displaying their protective case around the same hardware and they all seemed to reveal their products around the same time. If you want to pretend that’s not the Switch 2, have fun, but I’m fully convinced that’s the hardware after that happened.

        1. Multiple? How many? As I said, there is not a confirmation of a link, name, there is nothing. Anyone can pretend it was real. No reason to believe in rumors.

Today is really easier to make mockups and 3d models and share on the internet, even easier than pre-2017 when the current Switch released and there were a lot of fake leaks then.

          1. Dbrand, Zengrip, and Satisfye to my knowledge (hope I got that right, it was hard to skim for the names) are the three companies that all revealed a grip around the same time all using the same looking device. If you check out Arlo’s video from last week he talks all about it. The Switch 2 is all but confirmed to be another handheld with an added C button on the right Joy-Con and two USB-C ports on top and bottom this time.

            1. I checked here and Zengrip is the name of the grip made by the company Satisfye.

I was referring to the rumors pointing to cases and screen protectors by chinese manufactures, they are nameless. They just threw that they were chinese and that is it.

About the ones you mentioned, they could just be for illustrative purposes. Either way, even if they knew how the Switch looks, they can’t announce grips, cases and screen protectors before the console is officially revealed. Until these companies prove that they even got their hands on a Switch successor or know the details about it, it doesn’t make sense to believe in them like they’re official and confirmed.

              1. Then why were they all announced around the same time, why are they all advertising they’re for Switch 2, and why are they all for the same looking device? It makes no sense for them to be mock ups. If they were they wouldn’t advertise them to the public.

                1. Because they are announcing an accessory for something that didn’t even release. They want marketing and think they have nothing to lose. Just think about it, if they were trustable companies they wouldn’t break NDA just to show a picture of the console (in dbrand’s case). If they were trustable they would atleast respect Nintendo (not breaking the NDA, you know). If they didn’t respect the company behind the console they are making an accessory, what makes you think they respect the consumer and are not doing this just for clout?

        2. ChaosInvoker, do you have links to any of the product pages with the cases? I searched around a bit but couldn’t find anything, and now I’m curious.

          1. I don’t think I’m allowed to put links on this site, but just type dbrand into google and visit the site. They have a Switch 2 section. I’m on the site right now and there’s a rotating Switch with the blue and red joy-cons encased in their clear hardcase cover rotating in the center of the screen. The words Switch 2 Kill Switch are overlapping the device itself.

  2. I’m in the camp that leakers really ruin the revealing of games or new consoles… so I really don’t care for post like these.

  3. I’m glad Nintendo is stringing us along. These fake console designs really bring me back to the pre-social media days

  4. I thought that if they had a legit Switch 2 they’d show more than this. A side profile like that doesn’t prove the legitimacy of the image at all.

Man, what a waste of time.

  5. First I was like “ok its strange that someone has his watch on his sweater but fine” but now…man.. that watch strap looks strange (the metal part is missing key elements and the holes look strange), the hand looks bad… there are “loose” cables, the plastic glasses look 2 dimensional and I don’t get what the room is about. I must confess, I was fooled in the first moment, and acknowledge that AI image making got really far

  6. I’m gonna say not the final, or real, S2. Simple reason those “legs” for the stand are an absolute NO. Not even nintendo would go back to the single kickstand legs, or add an extra one. The stand on the Oled is the most likely design moving forward. Fake.
