The road to the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 has been quite an up and down roller-coaster. Nintendo hasn’t opened up about the pricing of the console yet, but there may be a good reason why. The United States has been constantly threatening other countries with tariffs, and it could very well impact the pricing on Nintendo’s upcoming console.
So, it was inevitable that Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa was asked about the matter in a Reuters article, which was translated by Nintendo Everything. In it, Furukawa says that “Nintendo Switch is not only manufactured in China, but in places such as Vietnam and Cambodia as well. We are predicting various geopolitical risks and establishing ways to respond”.
Furukawa also talked about China dealing with more fees imposed on them. He does say that they “anticipate a certain impact”, but they expect that to have minimal influence on this year’s financial results. He concluded by saying that “we will continue to observe the trends, and thoroughly consider how to respond”.
This wouldn’t be happening if Ace Watkins won the presidency!
