The Nintendo Switch 2 comes with 256GB of internal storage. However, if you tend to purchase a lot of digital titles it seems you’ll certainly need external storage as well. Here’s a selection of third party Nintendo Switch 2 games along with their file-sizes:
- Fortnite – 29.5 GB
- Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition – 56.8 GB
- HITMAN World of Assassination Signature Edition – 61 GB
- Split Fiction – 71 GB
- Street Fighter 6 – 48.8 GB

Split fiction 71 GB ?!!?
Yup!
It’s surprising that it’s bigger than cyberpunk!
3 games of this size and we already have almost no more space…
At least you can use either a 256GB of internal storage or a MicroSD Express Memory Card (up to 2TB).
So much for going all digital this gen…
Waiting for the first game to cross that 100GB line… Nintendo console is officially in the big league (spec wise) now.
Probably fortnite already with all the updates and DLC.
Big League spec wise? Crack?
Never thought Fortnite will be a little much in the new system.
We’re spoiled. Nintendo seems to be the master of compression.
A year from now a 1tb micro SD express card will be available and relatively affordable, I think.
I am dreading the cost of those Micro SD Express cards now :(
Even these 5 games would fight for the 256 GB storage place on my console. They exceed it and the new SD cards are expensive… Now, it’s sure the €510 Mario Kart Pack console price is just a beginning.
Yikes, 71 gigs for Split Fiction… That’s already almost a third Switch 2’s internal storage. I have no idea what’s in that game that makes it need such a file size.
…Can you imagine Red Dead Redemption 2 on this thing with its 100+ gig size?
