Stores starting to receive Nintendo Switch 2 consoles ahead of launch

Target stores have started to receive stock of the Nintendo Switch 2 ahead of its long-awaited 5th June launch. A Target employee snapped an image of a delivery of Nintendo Switch 2 systems which arrived at the store today. This particular store received 40 consoles with 20 of them being the Mario Kart World Nintendo Switch 2 bundle and 20 were standalone Nintendo Switch 2 systems. No doubt other stores will have started to receive their stock today too.

Update: Image now removed at the request of the OP as it contained identifiable information that the person forgot to edit out.

    1. Honestly, I don’t know many they will have in stores due to scalpers but the store clerk won’t let you buy the system early or play a license game and not lets not forget, Nintendo updated their user agreement and they will brick your console permanently.

      1. Seriously? People are freaking out about Nintendo saying they can brick consoles over here too? That is for modded Switch 2s, and Nintendo has been putting out this statement since the Wii. If you don’t believe me, boot up your old Wii, connect it to your router, and then read the notice it gives you about an update and how Nintendo reserves the right to make your system inoperable if it detects unauthorized content. This has to be the most manufactured ragebait ever, no way people weren’t aware of this for 20 years.

        1. You’ll find that lot of people legitimately do not read nowadays and just listen to whatever ends up regurgitated out of someone else mouth its the same reason we had a big echo chamber of misinformation after the switch 2 direct despite all the information being available for anybody to read on Nintendo website

          1. I can understand if it was just a matter of not reading something, but this has been spread around by word of mouth and has been common sense for at least 2 decades now. It feels like the discourse is being run by literal AI and bots.

  1. My guess tomorrow or after tomorrow you will see videos on YouTube with people unboxing Switch 2.

    1. No, otherwise the responsible stores will have VERY big problems with Nintendo, they are required to respect the release date.

Nintendo is not gonna brick your console for having the console early LOL! As long as the person who has the console isn’t posting pictures, videos etc showing off the console Nintendo has no way of knowing that you have the console early. When it becomes a issue is people uploading videos and pictures to the internet before release day showing off features that Nintendo doesn’t want public.

            1. Its fine. That’s understandable. Streamers and gamers did Nintendo a favor which resulted Nintendo updated their user agreement program which they were forced to do.

          1. Uh, if they can do it, and they can see it via the e-shop connections, eh… and the incriminated stores are exposing themselves, in addition to having big problems, to an end of collaboration, I very much doubt they’ll take the risk…
The release date is the release date, not a week before…

          2. They can see what we play now if you read the whole agreement so as soon as they see Mariokart World before the release Date that’s it for you’re console

            1. Honestly they can’t. They can’t brick someone else’s consoles while playing it before the release date as long as you don’t share any info online about it by posting videos, images or stream it on YouTube, Facebook and Twitch until the actual game and the console itself is release in most countries first. Nintendo want’s to be very clear with their policies and some people like popular streamers disobey them usually. So, this resulted them making changes with the user agreement.

          3. Nintendo can tell that you’re online if you connect to the servers, but you have nothing to worry about if you don’t connect the system to your router. That’s the only way Nintendo was able to brick a 3DS or Switch.

      1. There’s a lot of people in this world. Odds are out of the hundreds of thousands of these sitting in stocks, at least 1 or 2 will be snuck out or stolen by some moron that doesn’t care about his job.

  2. Well, I have to say I don’t think it’s smart to share this kind information outside your company.
I mean, we all assume stock will come in ahead of time, so it’s not really useful info either.
This could potentially inform robbers where they can find some highly anticipated items.

  3. I mean, even if I somehow was able to get my hands on it before the release, no way I’d turn it on before the release day and risk getting noticed by Nintendo using the account transfer or just logging in.

  4. Lets get serious, the photo just shows some boxes in inventory but honestly that could be anything “who even says it’s the Nintendo Switch 2 inside them boxes”

  5. Good I hope this means that Target will also ship out the consoles from their online ordering system since I cannot get it shipped to store for in store pickup. I had to order it online and have it shipped to my home.

  6. No way would I turn it on before the release day and run the chance of Nintendo noticing that I used the account transfer or simply logged in, even if I managed to obtain it before the release.
