Dragon Quest series has shipped more than 94 million units worldwide

One fairly important thing that was missed when we received a firm release date for the eagerly-anticipated
Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake is that Square Enix revealed just how many units the much-loved JRPG franchise has shipped worldwide. The Japanese company revealed that the series has shipped over 94 million units globally since its inception in 1986. Square Enix also announced that the excellent Dragon Quest S: Echoes of An Elusive Age has shipped nearly 8.5 million units globally to date.
