American actress Hunter Schafer is reportedly being eyed as playing the role of Princess Zelda in the upcoming live-action The Legend of Zelda movie. The information comes from established movie leaker Daniel RPK. Schafer has previously appeared in both The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes and Euphoria. The live action The Legend of Zelda movie is currently on track for release in March 2027.

Let’s not have Zelda played by a guy please. There has to be a lot of women out there that look exactly like Zelda. Picking a transgender is just going to hurt the film publicly. Don’t go the Disney route with Zelda, this film needs to do well.
Zelda was also Sheik, so having a transgender person would make sense and be an awesome move (that they’d never have the guts to do). Honestly Zelda or Link could be played by a transgender person no problem.
