We got a much better look at Sonic Racing CrossWorlds yesterday at the Summer Game Fest and it is looking like a content packed production. Three additional characters were showcased at the event; Hatsune Miku, Joker from Persona and Ichiban Kasuga from Yakuza. However, in the trailer broadcast yesterday there are slots for an additional eight free post launch characters. All bets are on regarding which characters will fill these slots. Sonic Racing CrossWorlds launches on Nintendo Switch on 25th September.
I hope they included Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima from the Yakuza series.

And guess what, 0 of them will be Sonic characters. No, you will have to PAY for two, honestly mid, characters (whose only trait for each is being a lesbian) from the IDW comic books.
No Classic-era characters, no Tikal, no Chaos 0, no Maria or Gerald, not even Black Doom to tie with Shadow Generations, since there is apparently no story mode to put this in canon.
This game just wants to be the Fortnite of racing games.
