Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds launches for Switch on Sept. 25th, more characters revealed

At Summer Game Fest, the release date for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds was confirmed to be September 25th, 2025. However, this date is only for the Switch 1 version of the game, with the Switch 2 Edition (£64.99 GBP) launching later. A paid upgrade pack will also be available for those that have already purchased the Switch 1 version for £54.99 GBP.

Additionally, SEGA characters Ichiban Kasuga from Yakuza, Joker from Persona, and Hatsune Miku were revealed as playable racers. Minecraft will also be coming to the game in the future as part of the Season Pass and Digital Deluxe Edition (£79.99 GBP), with Steve, Alex, and Creeper as playable and the Minecraft world as a racetrack. SpongeBob was leaked as another DLC character earlier this week, but has not yet been officially revealed.

Sonic the Werehog from Sonic Unleashed along with a special vehicle and decal will be a pre-order bonus, though pre-orders for the Switch version are not yet available. Knuckles the Dread, Rusty Rose, and Tails Nine from the Netflix animated series Sonic Prime will be available as bonuses for the Digital Deluxe Edition.

  1. I hate how they lock things away as preorder and digital bonuses, that is anti consumer, give everyone everything, especially when games are more expensive than ever

    1. Normally I would agree, but I honestly prefer the option in this case of getting a version of JUST the Sonic characters for the Sonic crossover game and none of the cross promotional crap.

      1. there are sonic characters locked in the stuff he said though, the cross promotional stuff is for season pass

  2. Bring back Shiro Maekawa and bring Sonic Riders back stop this kart racer trash already. If you want this just do Sega All Stars racing again as a separate thing.
