SpongeBob, TMNT, and Avatar announced as DLC for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds

At the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2025, SEGA premiered a new trailer for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds confirming that SpongeBob SquarePants, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Avatar the Last Airbender will soon be joining the race. SpongeBob and Patrick were both revealed to be playable racers, complete with a Bikini Bottom race track and a Patty Wagon kart. No gameplay footage of TMNT or ATLA was shown and a release date has not yet been shared.

The new characters will be released as part of the Season Pass DLC included with the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, as well as available for purchase separately. Steve, Alex, and Creeper from Minecraft were announced as the first Season Pass content pack at Summer Game Fest earlier this month. With SpongeBob, TMNT, and ATLA taking the next three slots, two more crossovers are still to be announced.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds launches for Switch on September 25th, 2025 and Switch 2 at a later date.

  1. Be cool if they have the TMNT van aka the party wagon, interested in seeing what’s included as far as the Ninja Turtles.

  2. Idk why, but crossovers like this are strangely offputting to me. It’s like Negan from Walking Dead getting into Tekken. Just plain weird and out of place, not really exciting.

  3. Sonic, Hatsune Miku, Minecraft Steve, Spongebob Squarepants, and Joker from Persona 5

This is an alternate universe lineup I swear lol. In some other universe this game is like a passing ‘wouldn’t that be funny lol’ what-if thought in someone’s head haha. Love this

  4. It’s really not as strange as Sonic All Star Racing 2012: Danica Patrick, Football Manager, Shogun, Willimus, Team Fortress

  5. I really hate this crap. If they are adding dlc to a sonic crossover, i want it to be more sonic characters

  6. Sega’s own characters aren’t as i iconic as other companies’ that they have to include those other characters to make people pay attention to their games.

  7. All of these characters are Nickelodeon owned. So, clearly Nick sat down with SEGA to make this collab happen.

    1. Due to Sega’s deal with Paramount (Nickelodeon owner) to make the Sonic movies and Knuckles show, they are apparently expanding that partnership.
