NateTheHate states again that he believes Nintendo Direct happening this month

Prominent video game leaker NateTheHate has doubled down on his statement that he believes a Nintendo Direct presentation is happening this month. He has said this a couple of times now and seem quite confident that a Nintendo showcase will be taking place. Obviously the massive Donkey Kong Bananza is out now and fans are naturally wondering what’s next for the Nintendo Switch 2. Hopefully we won’t have to wait long to find out.

“But a direct is still Happening in July?” “To my knowledge.”

  1. Next week was always the cleanest week for it to happen, was it not? This week had Pokémon Presents and the release of Mario Party Switch 2 Edition.

    1. Because a switch 2 upgrade of Mario party would certainly get in the way of a Nintendo direct LMAO

      1. Of course not, and Nintendo have shown that they are quite happy to clash Directs with game releases previously. But if it truly is either this week or next week, my point is that next week always seemed the more likely of the two.

        1. They were making a bad faith argument. The Pokémon Presents is likely what pushed it back if there is indeed a Direct this month.

      2. In all honesty, it would. Nintendo loves spending precious time in Directs talking exhaustively about games they’ve already announced even if they’re close to release.

If they had a Direct at the start of this month, I bet anything they’d spend 10+ minutes talking about Bananza (despite it having a Direct exclusive to it), Legends Z-A (despite Pokemon Presents) and Jamboree (despite not having much to talk about). Directs should be for new game announcements only, instead of updates about already announced games.

    1. Sorry I didn’t mean to getting feel bad for you like that but I love you nintendo I’m your biggest fan of all the games like Mario, Luigi, Peach, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Kirby, Zelda, Rabbids, Rayman, Metroid, Pikmin, Rob the robot, Splatoon and more a lot of games

    2. I love you and I love all your new life is about to live on and don’t invite nate the hate he is not part of the company he has no right to say believe don’t trust him trust me okay and everything is going to be fabulous.

    1. And you if he’s right will he gain esteem or does it only go one way? Just wondering considering we all remember your moaning about his leaks around the system’s reveal and insistence that it was all a bunch of nonsense.

  2. Hopefully in the next Direct, there will be more games that utilize the Switch 2 mouse mode. An art game of some sort would be nice, it’s perfect for mouse mode.

  3. We’ll likely get a Switch 2 Direct next month rather than this month. Nintendo likes to space their big releases with big announcements. They just released Donkey Kong Bananza and they’re going to want to give it a few weeks before having a Nintendo Direct to give people still on the fence a little more time. Its obvious we still need at least one more Direct this year, but I would be surprised if it happened in the following nine days.

  4. The discourse around leakers is always pretty hilarious. Anyone who doesn’t think Nate has some source at Nintendo (probably Nintendo of America) at this point can’t be saved, given the number of things he has got right over the years and before anyone else leaked them. People seem to think that 1 wrong leak would disprove 10 correct ones, but that really doesn’t make any sense. Nate is leaking the plans that his source is aware of today, but plans of course can change.

For example, the widely-leaked Switch Pro was almost certainly a thing, and it’s obvious to anyone who looks because the leaked specs for the Switch Pro were nicely separated between the Switch OLED (with the OLED screen of the exact size leaked, ethernet port on the dock, and superior kickstand, all leaked) and the DLSS-capable chip of the Switch 2, which also happens to be dated 2021, meaning its development would have been at the height of the Switch Pro rumours.

    1. Many people consider leakers to be sacred, but it has been proven several times that this is not the case. Evidence? Last year, everyone was saying that we would have a Nintendo Direct in February. Why? Because Nintendo usually holds one in that month, but it was held in March, and what did those leakers produce? “Microsoft asked Nintendo to delay the Direct,” and worse, some actually believed them! And we should trust them?! Everyone knows that even if they are wrong, they don’t care because they just want to be the center of attention, so they can make money.Nate is no exception; he has said many things about the Switch 2 that have still not come to pass. The same goes for the Switch Pro; the rumors started because Sony released a PS4 Pro, but absolutely nothing confirms that it ever existed, quite the opposite !

    2. “The discourse around leakers is always pretty hilarious.”
Yeah, it’s always funny to see how leakers are worshipped around the internet.

“People seem to think that 1 wrong leak would disprove 10 correct ones, but that really doesn’t make any sense”
Of course it does. How can someone “accurately” leak 90% of something and get the remaining 10% wrong, especially on events, which do have everything set up in advance? Plus just look at the current leak state: say the same thing millions of times and hope that, someday, they indeed announce it. If so, tell everyone “I told you!”. If not, tell everyone “next event!” or “they cancelled it!”.

“For example, the widely-leaked Switch Pro was almost certainly a thing”
      The evidence being?

“…and it’s obvious to anyone who looks because…”
There’s no such thing as “it’s obvious”. Either something exists or doesn’t exist. You can try and stretch logic all you want but there’s no actual evidence a Switch Pro was ever considered by Nintendo besides people wanting to generate hype. They just assumed it would happen because of the hybrid nature of the Switch, despite Nintendo stating back in 2017 that it was, primarily, a console to play on TV that also can serve as a handheld.

Leakers are a matter of “wrong until proven right”, not “right until proven wrong”. It’s very easy to make a “convincing” leak. Nate isn’t spotless. Notice he’s not even giving any margin for people to believe him besides “trust me bro” and things conveniently being arranged so you CAN suspect a Direct is coming but no concrete evidence.

    1. Sofiona if a direct gets announced this month u gotta apologize or somethin, I still remember EVERYONE doubting Nate’s Switch 2 reveal date considering it was the same day as DK Returns HD, yet that turned out to be correct.

      1. Apologize for…? Hurting his feelings? I doubt he’s concerned about what random users think, especially considering he, apparently, has a fanbase of his own around the internet.

Also you don’t need a “leaker” in order to predict a Direct is coming. We barely have any games announced for the Switch 2, especially third parties besides the ones at the original presentation. Nintendo did nothing in June (though it was when the console was actually launched). If not this month, it’ll be in August. It’s not rocket science.

  5. Well I’m just hoping more third party gets announced and also which games Microsoft plans to release on Switch 2..
