KiwiTalkz, who has published a number of lengthy interviews with Retro Studios employees in the past, has posted on social media platform X that the long-awaited Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is still unfinished and that it has been missing key development milestones. KiwiTalkz hasn’t mentioned a delay though and says that he expects a firm release date to be given in the next Nintendo Direct presentation. However, if a date isn’t given by Nintendo in the next Direct then he will elaborate further on what he has heard.

Anyway Nintendo is going to give priority to kirby air ryders than metroid, If the game gets released during the same season as the former of course, Nintendo will bury Metroid prime 5 due to the lack of advertising efforts, you can bet on it.

Nintendo’s handling of this series has been terrible. Besides Dread and M2 remake there’s hasn’t been a decent game in 18 years. just look at the fan games and rom hacks everyone made to cope for it.
I won’t deny that you have a point. Metroid is seemingly entering another golden era and the dooming over prime 4 is annoying but Nintendo hasn’t had the best record with this series
It’s rare for a first party Nintendo game to come out in a unplayable state so whatever. If we gotta wait it’ll be worth it.
More than like it’s the Metroid curse. RS had to basically overhaul the first build. Nintendo slating it for winter 2025 or holiday is dumb.

Metroid games must be tough to make. The series has such a high perigee, all of the mainline titles are masterclasses in game development despite the lower sales numbers and the world knows it. This retro is largely a brand new team compared to the old retro that made the prime games and they have big shoes to fill.
Yeah really tough, so much so that the first 3 were made by this same studio across 6 years combined

Exactly what I was thinking, Nintendo fanboys in the defense, I bought a switch 2, have to say, very underwhelming, beautiful kit, just not got the games, and no I don’t own previous switch games and neither do I want them, except for metriod prime remastered, which was a must have.
So a game without a release date is unfinished loll,. Well no,. Shiit., unfinished could mean a bunch of stuff,. I’m sure the game is 96% done,. Probably just polish that’s left

I love the “he will develop what he heard”… Why not do it right away then…? Either you know something and you say it or you keep quiet, that’s it. For me, it clearly indicates that either his “info” is 6 years old or it’s, once again, nonsense. I’m ready to bet that he hopes Nintendo reveals a date soon (and so do I), otherwise he’ll have to make up a wild story like “Retro Studios requested a delay.”
