The Taiwan Lantern Festival will feature large Super Mario-themed area

Nintendo has teamed up with the Taiwan Latern Festival which takes place next year to have a large Super Mario-themed area which will take up two-hectares. This move is a joint collaboration with the Japanese video game company Nintendo and the Chiayi County government. The Super Mario-themed area will allow visitors to interact with their favourite game characters and take photos with them, which will spread some cheer amongst attendees. The Taiwan Latern Festival is held in Chiayi from 3rd March – 15th March, 2026. Visitors who stay at designated hotels or join related tour packages during the festival period will be eligible to receive a special Super Mario-themed lantern.
