The Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 have been updated to Version 21.1.0 and those expecting numerous new features should look away now. The Version 21.1.0 update simply improves system stability so that everything works as intended. You can read the brief patch notes down below.
Ver. 21.1.0 (Released December 8, 2025)
General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.

They unbrick 3rd party docks yet?
A classic “stability update” strikes again! Even if Version 21.1.0 doesn’t add any flashy new features, these behind-the-scenes tweaks are still important—especially with both Switch and Switch 2 sharing the ecosystem. Smooth performance and fewer hiccups always make the overall experience better, even if the patch notes are as minimal as ever.
Still, it’s always a little funny how Nintendo keeps the tradition of ultra-brief update notes alive. Maybe the next one will bring something a bit more exciting, but for now, stability is stability!
Thanks for the note, Sickr.
