Japan: Physical sales of Pokemon Legends: Z-A on Nintendo Switch 2 surpass 1 million copies

The Pokemon franchise shows no sign of declining popularity in The Land of the Rising Sun as it has emerged that the most recent entry Pokemon Legends: Z-A on Nintendo Switch 2 has shifted over one million physical copies in Japan. This means that Pokemon Legends: Z-A is the second Nintendo Switch 2 game to achieve this milestone after Mario Kart World. Game Data Library says that the original Nintendo Switch version of Pokemon Legends: Z-A physical sales are over 2.5 million and likely around the 4 million mark when you factor in those all-important digital copies. 1. At least with Pokémon you get your money’s worth because of shinies. CoD and FIFA on the other hand is that 80% of the game is cut and locked behind multiple paywalls yet somehow people think there’s value behind those games.🤷 Do I think Legends Z-A is a 10/10? No cuz it’s not perfect but it’s a good game with some flaws. it being just the city is not a valid criticism cuz it was always going to focus on just the city yet people act surprised that it’s the case. That being said, I hope the next Legends titles uses this battle system as a staple and the mainline keeps the standard turn base battle system.

        1. “Pokèmon is better cause you can find shinies” wow… that’s it? Oh it’s a “”””good game with flaws”””” sure, defenetly not a boring rushed mess that is a complete joke to the past titles of the series.

  1. AWESOME! Love seeing my favorite series keep getting the sales with each release. I love Z-A more than Arceus. It has been a great 3 months since it released in October. Adding the DLC was pretty spot on as well since the majority of players were through the campaign by the time the DLC released.

  2. That took a surprisingly long time honestly. Also why are people in the comments expecting Pokemon to flop? Just because a bunch of out of touch YouTubers think Nintendo needs them doesn’t mean it actually does. Nintendo is not a company for Gamers. It a company that makes games that people can play. Most Nintendo games are not ‘Gamer’ games and never really has been.

    1. Actually, most if not all Nintendo games have been for gamers, Nintendo is absolutely a company for gamers. Every real gamer plays Nintendo as a matter of fact. I’m not even sure how you came to understand your own logic unless you’re one of the few who still believe MP mode + blood/swearing + realistic graphics makes you a hardcore gamer, because no, it doesn’t. Most of the casual shit you probably play like GTA, CoD, D2, etc, no real gamer touches.

    1. This. For as much as I love the game, too many times have I entered a battle with a type advantage and several levels higher, and still almost lost because everything in this game hits way harder and obviously faster than any Pokémon game before. It just saps the fun out of it.
