Japan: Nintendo Switch 2 sales at 4 million units surpassing GameCube

The latest Famitsu video game hardware and physical software sales are now in from Japan and it has been revealed that Nintendo Switch 2 sales have surpassed 4 million units. This means that the Nintendo Switch 2 has already outsold the GameCube in The Land of the Rising Sun. The best-selling hardware this week was the Nintendo Switch 2, selling an additional 313,838 units. The best-selling physical game was Mario Kart World. Here’s the data for the two weeks spanning 29th December, 2025 to 11th January, 2026.
