Wario World for GameCube comes to Nintendo Classics

Nintendo has announced the latest GameCube game headed to the Nintendo Classics app and it is none other than the zany Wario World. Wario World launched on the platform back in June 2003 and gained a legion of fans for his antics. The game sees Wario attempt to regain his treasure and castle from the evil sentient gem, Black Jewel. Wario World on Nintendo Classics is available now for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members on Nintendo Switch 2.

  1. This is a great addition- I never got to complete this game as a kid so now I’ve got a chance.

Still, I’m wondering when FE: Path of Radiance and other games they actually advertised were coming to the service are going to be added.

  2. Was this even on the Coming Soon lineup? I know it’s a classic but I’m so desperate for Pokémon Colosseum or XD Gale of Darkness 😩

  3. It’s honestly surprising—though not in the best way—to see Wario World picked as the next GameCube addition to Nintendo Classics. While it has its small group of loyal fans, the game is widely remembered as one of the weakest entries in Nintendo’s entire catalogue. Its short length, repetitive design, and lack of the charm seen in other Wario titles make this a pretty underwhelming choice for the service.

With so many stronger GameCube games still waiting for their moment, this announcement definitely feels like a missed opportunity. Hopefully the next addition will be something more deserving of the spotlight.

    Thanks for the update, Sickr.

    Best regards,
