SEGA has released a new teaser trailer for the long-awaited Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Movie exactly one year before it is set to make its debut. The short new trailer shows a familiar cast of characters including Shadow the Hedgehog who makes a welcome return. The Sonic the Hedgehog 4 movie launches worldwide in cinemas on 19th March, 2027.

Tom wasn’t in any of the Sonic games. All the movies have those weird incongruities. At least 3 had a good- if not fully game accurate -Maria storyline.
Yeah, the movies are very much their own thing. Very different tone and execution.
I mean, it was mostly accurate at some points. Discounting Shadow being found in a meteorite instead of being created by Gerald (though that could foreshadow (har har) the Black Comet) and Maria dying in an explosion instead of being shot (understandable since not only her being shot is censored to hell and back in most games but it wouldn’t fly in a live-action movie), the essence was there.
I think Sonic 2 is the one which diverges the most from the games since the story is a weird mix of Sonic 2, Sonic 3 and it becomes Sonic Heroes in the end.
Neither was Tails nor Knuckles.

This movie is going to flop hard it seems way more expensive than the last with all these big names also imagine the CGI costs if they do a different future setting too plus Metal. Sonic movie franchise is cooked with this. Seems rumors were true they were going to pack this movie with characters because 3 didn’t do as well as they wanted and to be fair that movie was trash thanks to Jim mostly. Guess the rumor about Silver is true too he’s the end credits scene but that’s not enough to save this. Silver should have been the end credits scene for 3 and main draw of 4, Amy and Metal do not do the same thing and are a huge downgrade from Shadow. Always felt they should have used Metal for 3 instead of Shadow would have made more sense.
