Japan is Nintendo’s strongest market so it’s no surprise to hear that the Nintendo Switch 2 has already surpassed five million units sold in The Land of the Rising Sun. To compare the PlayStation 5 has now surpassed 7.5 million, but that was released back in 2020, whereas the Nintendo Switch 2 went on sale in June 2025. Meanwhile Max Dood is spinning lies that MK1 is super successful. The game has now reached 8 million but is on huge discount for the complete edition and has been for some while, the base game came out in 2023 and the amount of guests costs a ton including celebrity likenesses and voices for guests and MK characters. So this was not successful I don’t think they made money back given the celebrities and guests also far behind MK11 which sold 10 million or more in a year at full price before all DLC released. I think MK11 closed at 15 million after the complete edition. Ed Boon as usual and WB Games will gaslight to pretend this was a massive success.
