Leaker NateTheHate, who correctly revealed that Nintendo was working on a Star Fox game, has said on X that he won’t give exact dates next time after getting the announcement timing wrong. Nate’s source told him that the extended remake of Star Fox 64 would be announced at the end of April. He was only a few days off, but is now more cautious about revealing exact dates going forwards as plans simply change.
Leaker NateTheHate won’t give exact dates in the future due to Star Fox miss

Or he just gave any date to create a buzz and then looks for a lame excuse….
It wouldn’t be the first time coming from him.
As for saying ‘predicted correctly,’ that’s a bit strong, he had talked about a ‘new game’ and not a remake, so he was wrong.
The things you’re saying he “got wrong“ are the most minor details. Everything else he got right. And “new” is relative in this context, this is a never before released version of the game (which has been completely remade). It’s new by that metric.
it’s OK to not like leakers, there’s plenty of legitimate reasons to not like them. (I for one am neutral) but to insist on something untrue just cause you don’t like the guy…
Please Stop. Sofiona, You are like Mega Republicans back in 2020 that to this day still say that Covid isn’t real because it goes against what their political party believed. In Your Case, anybody that does something that Nintendo doesn’t approve of like leaking information, you are extremely bias and ignorant about. Your statements make you look ignorant and annoying. The only reason that you get away with it here is because the site is filled with like minded Nintendo Cultists. Theres a difference between a fan and whatever some of you people here are.
People like Sofiona and Mr. Frost, completely agree. Sofiona more though, they are always here on every post that deals with something controversial, defending Nintendo and attacking anybody or anything that isn’t Kissing Nintendo’s corporate boot or doing something that is something Nintendo doesn’t like or approve of. They also constantly try to go for the last word, acting all smug like because they made the last comment that what they say is validated or right when it isn’t.
I would call Sofiona a troll but I know that her comments are serious. Although other people on this site are being almost as bad by for example throwing out fake information. NateTheHate is always took seriously because they are almost always right and have and they just aren’t random guesses. They have industry insiders giving them information. When things aren’t 100% accurate. Companies change plans constantly and dates, and Nintendo Especially Nintendo, will cancel practically 100% completely games, or hold them, snd in many cases, more than you can imagine never get released. NateTheHate is real and legitimate and you people constantly @#$& on them.
Bro, do you guys hate me and sofiana for just being fans? Can’t call us crazy for liking a company.
At least they don’t reply to themselves under different names…
A remake is a new game. You’re just moving the goalposts.
He knew there was a Starfox game in the oven and that’s all that matters 😊
Right?
I bet even this will end up being “false” when he drops a date in a future “leak”.
I feel like you should stop making articles about him. I searched articles by his name on this website and made a list of what predictions he got right vs wrong. At best, it was 50/50 but I’d argue less in some cases.
So either he’s wrong or he’s just spoiling a surprise. I mean, what’s the point either way? Just for more web traffic?
Well, yeah.
He’s running a business that makes him money. Clicks make him money, engagement makes him money. Why would he stop posting leaks, especially from someone that’s actually gotten a few right? And actually drives traffic to the site. Unless you were being rhetorical 🤷
Yes, it was a rhetorical question to have them ask themselves is the webtraffic is worth posting “leaks” that are net negatives whether they end up being true or not.
And yet.
With every leak and every post. Here you are, pissing and moaning.
Sounds like an argument in my favor.
No more leaks, no more pissing and moaning.
He’s right way more often than not.
It’s a good point actually about the new game. I was expecting a brand new star fox game because of that comment, which made it a bit disappointing that it was only a remake.
Not gonna lie but his sources is very accurate. Knew the new Star Fox remake was in the works. At least he finally admitted his timing being wrong.
Or, and follow with me here, he gets lost and just stops leaking stuff?
Even better; Maybe certain news sites stop giving these people a platform?
He wasn’t just a few days off, it was a full week basically. Also Nate should just not share anything. It ruins the fun and surprise – and for what? His own fame?
Well I guess I have to start believing if it will get people off my back. He’s gotten stuff right in the past, but I just hope he will keep being right.
I’m continue not believing him, I will only believe the horse’s mouth. Bedside, leaks ruin the surprise.
It’s not a surprise, It’s a product that a company is selling to you for money.
To be fair it was kinda odd he said it’d be in a social media post, only for a guerilla direct (sorta the first of its kind) to randomly pop up on Nintendo Today & YouTube. Could be entirely true as well that they pushed the date back a week (especially considering the Mario Galaxy movie had just released in Japan at the end of April) to make it a longer presentation rather than a trailer drop. It was already a huge headline so they’d have to do more to show it off than just drop the trailer they had. It was probably just going to be shorter and with a brief intro, but they put together a deeper gameplay dive to sell it better. At least that’s what makes sense to me from a marketing perspective, if the suprise was already up.
On a side note, this has me excited and hopeful for that OOT Remake this year. I wonder when that is…
Chuds seething he got it “wrong” when Nintendo just released the announcement by a week. He said we’re getting Starfox in June and that’s what we’re getting smh…
I will never doubt you again, don’t worry!
I like the leaks/rumors. I tell friends about them that are completely disconnected from internet gaming chatter but are interested in new video games
Definitely, they give fans to talk about during these game droughts. I’m not too fond of Nintendo’s current strategy of sitting on news until a month before release.
Like what are they doing? Been a long damn time since we have gotten an actual Nintendo direct, I don’t feel excited for the upcoming next months cause they keep revealing one game at a time
I think it’s some new strategy of theirs because public reception from more recent directs has been pretty lukewarm, and announcing things like this makes sure that each game has their own time in the marketing spotlight. In old Direct formats a new Starfox title would probably be at the end, and a lot of people would switch it off if it wasn’t an announcement they were expecting, but saying it’s Starfox from the get go sets expectations immediately. Not a big fan of it though, I liked the seeing games that I probably wouldn’t have normally been aware of in general Directs.
Or they are so fed up with the leaks that it becomes part of their strategy to find the mole… Instead of centralizing everything on a Nintendo Direct, they reveal it bit by bit.
I highly doubt that the Nintendo Direct format will be abandoned, but we will see less until they stop the hemorrhage.
We need to stop defending the leakers because they are the guilty ones, not Nintendo; they ruin the surprises, the opportunities for buzz, etc., and worse, if Nintendo doesn’t show what they ‘predicted,’ people turn against them when it should really be aimed at the leakers!
Not to mention that they make money from their leaks, whether true or false, but apparently that only bothers me!
Hard disagree. The best announcement of all time was the E3 where drums started playing and they introduced Donkey Kong Country Returns for Wii.
No leaks. No rumors. A dormant franchise suddenly coming back in glorious 2D gameplay.
THAT was entertainment. THAT was PEAK.
And… even though it ended up being another 64 remake, I think Star Fox fans could have gotten a moment like that when Nintendo shadowdrops a Star Fox direct. But no… instead some leaker claimed there was a new game coming (so that already skewered expectations) and it wasn’t a surprise. And why? Just so leakers can get more engagement on twitter and youtubers/websites can get some extra ad revenue.
Ya, I empathize with the idea that the internet was a nice place to turn to for constant information updates, but that it has become a double edged sword because now all kinds of people started feeding things into the airwaves in order to have their own time to “shine”. It’s a sickness in so many cases, like being motivated purely by wealth accumulation. Our brains need nature and helpful neighbors and family. But many of us just have the abusive internet, too often
This isn’t new. The internet has always been like this.
There’s somethings called a power button, a whitelist, or simply deleting the app.
I enjoyed the fanfare like that back then, but these companies barely give us any crumbs until we’re up to a month of release, and I like to plan out my gaming sessions. Sometimes I’ll be in the middle of a very long game that I won’t finish because the window is much smaller nowadays, and I don’t get to play it when my friend group does.
Sounds like a “you” problem tbh
I mean… yeah? why wouldn’t it be?
Sorry. I thought you were arguing leaks were necessary to accommodate your schedule or something. I misunderstood.
You must’ve not used the internet much or you forgot. There were rumors that Retro was working on a new Donkey Kong before the announcement. Lol
I can agree with that statement you are saying but sometimes leaking companies secrets in public before the official announcement can lead to a account suspension, banned or something worse. Even if you leak it into a private chat or a discord server by showing it to everyone, people will start talking about it online and companies will find the source on what started it.
Hate that happened to him he never should have gotten the backlash. Disgusting people on this site especially that attacked him a bunch of loser 40 year olds with nothing else to live for but shilling corporations but push left wing virtue signal politics too. I do hope the State Of Play happens that he heard about but never got confirmation on a date.
Good job making it about politics
Nate is either correct or accurate unlike most insiders, you guys are overblowing this
. He has years of cred and he doesn’t abuse his sources to the point the well dries up. That’s why Pyoro is gone even though he was a gimmick idiot.
Nate I’m sorry this happened to you if you see this. But if you have info on Injustice 3 or Kingdom Hearts 4 I welcome it so do those fandoms that have been abandoned for near 10 years. Dead Or Alive also.
Or here’s an idea: quit leaking stuff and just let it be a surprise. Nintendo probably purposely delays announcing things when they’re leaked just to make leakers look bad or to at least try and surprise us a little by delaying the announcement and surprising us with a new date.
Sorry to Nate for the loser 40 year old man babies raging over leaks. But Nate did Nintendo a favor because if they randomly did this it would have hurt the sales this game could make it was bad randomly doing a direct no promotion. Same with Splatoon Raiders Nintendo is doing weird things like Sony now with these reveals. Save it for a Direct announce it all there it would be better. Do third parties not have anything to help a direct? Hope the state of play Nate mentioned happens soon.
