Original Star Fox artist says Star Fox Switch 2 has “exactly the visuals” he had in mind making Star Fox 64

The original Star Fox designer, the acclaimed Takaya Imamura, has posted another take on the new Star Fox game for the Nintendo Switch 2 which is an enhanced version of the classic Star Fox 64. Imamura says that the new Star Fox project, which is in development at Nintendo, features “the kind of visuals I had imagined in my head back when we were making Star Fox 64.” You can’t say better than that. Star Fox launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on 25th June.

“The new work is exactly the kind of visuals I had imagined in my head back when we were making Star Fox 64! I’m also a huge fan of super realistic character expressions. That said, the movie version of Fox is just too cute ❤️”

  1. I really love the new designs. Like at first I was kinda like omg?? But they grew on me by the end of the presentation lol. It really fits the aesthetics of the original SNES box art and a lot of what they did with things like the puppets.

I mean, the main visual is essentially a recreation of the Super Famicom box art lol

I hope they incorporate some of the levels from that game into this remake, as well, as there’s not really anywhere else to squeeze them in haha
