SEGA had been readying what it called a Super Game which presumably had a huge budget attributed to it and was seemingly in the planning stages. Today the Japanese company has said that it has decided to cancel the Super Game and have also decided to focus less of Games as a Service which is long-running games similar to Fortnite etc. Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio were also part of this initiative but they are still in development .

At least we got monkey ball rumble, which is just incredible.
I just ordered all of the Monkey Ball games along with some other other Sega titles. Love Sega when they aren’t being garbage but hate how they add scummy DLC to many games that should just be in the base games. If you are going to do paid DLC make it real DLC, not ‘Pay money for Gold Shoes in Sonic Colors Ultimate” or “Pay to have characters in the background for the menu of Sonic Origin Collection. Bought Samba De Amigo on Switch, loved the Wii game. The music didn’t hit and felt lacking so they could sell $100 in DLC songs.
Yeah. Super Game. Oh well, never sounded like a real thing anyways. Are we still getting Golden Axe? Guessing canceled as well?
What does Golden Axe have to do with anything? Or didn’t you read that Crazy Taxi and JSR, who WERE part of the initiative are still in development? GA was never talked as a “games as service” thing.
Seriously, the trolling in this site is becoming less and less inspired.
Who’s getting trolled here? You? Sega? Exactly, GA was revealed along side those two games in the same trailer years ago but isn’t mentioned. It’s trolling to wonder if games with merely an announcement a very long time ago, live service / “super” or not, are canceled as well?
After having a look at other sites reporting this news, Golden Axe is mentioned as well as SoR, accounting for the 4 games from the same announcement. So the dozens of sites reporting on this cancellation did find GA relevant in connection to this change. Turns out my comment was the only thing being trolled here
At least now both Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi are still continuing development from SEGA. Glad they didn’t cancelled them.
