Update: SEGA responds.
SEGA has confirmed via the Steam listing for the new Crazy Taxi: World Tour, which is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, that it used generative AI to help with development for the game. More and more gaming companies are using genAi to speed up tasks and SEGA is probably just one of many. Crazy Taxi: World Tour release date has not been revealed yet.
At SEGA Corporation, we utilize generative AI as a support tool for developers, aiming to provide better content to our users and enable developers to focus more on creative tasks.
We have used such generative AI support tools during development of Crazy Taxi: World Tour. No AI was used in reference to the performers in the game.

Amazon says it won’t get any copies until July last time I checked.

Actually it won’t be dying anything soon. Because most of the stuff what AI says in Google AI overview or Chatgpt has poor irrelevant evidence and information. I have nothing against AI but my only criticism is using the tool for gaming or animated movies and finally untruthful info.

#1 people are angry because RAM and GPU pricing is high, manufacturers are also to blame not just AI companies.. RAM manufacturers have literally said they refuse to increase production to meet/surpass demand.
So a bunch of people who took forever to upgrade their PC are angry at AI, even though it’s not completely the AI companies fault.
RAM manufacturers have colluded in the past to keep prices high, the clueless still put the blame squarely on AI.
#2 they keep saying AI is stealing other people’s work.. not like artists have ever taken inspiration from others or cartoon shows being complete rip offs of others.. like Family Guy, right?

You may proper good sense on what you said about AI companies but most actors and voice actors are very worried and concern that AI is going to replace them and have them off the job permanently in the future. They really don’t want that to happen. Humans vs AI.
Artists and developers have used a wide variety of tools through all of history to speed up and automate repetitive tasks. Much of what’s being currently labeled AI isn’t new tech born out of the AI boom, but a relabeling of the next generations of tools already being used. If it weren’t for the new labels you’d have no idea and wouldn’t care. It’s all the same progress as before.
