SEGA has confirmed via the Steam listing for the new Crazy Taxi: World Tour, which is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, that it used generative AI to help with development for the game. More and more gaming companies are using genAi to speed up tasks and SEGA is probably just one of many. Crazy Taxi: World Tour release date has not been revealed yet.
At SEGA Corporation, we utilize generative AI as a support tool for developers, aiming to provide better content to our users and enable developers to focus more on creative tasks.
We have used such generative AI support tools during development of Crazy Taxi: World Tour. No AI was used in reference to the performers in the game.

Yet you support other AI games? Marvel Rivals, Fortnite, Expedition 33, Final Fantasy 7, Street Fighter 6, Monster Hunter Wilds, Assassins Creed Shadows, and many others. Google has said all these companies use it they just don’t disclose it same with anime some staff admit they use it just don’t disclose it same way they outsource to China and North Korea.

I know, but so many people are getting layed off over AI. We can’t escape it, but we can reject it. That’s why I support indie games since they don’t use Ai and often mock Ai.
Indie devs use AI. And if you think they don’t use it for coding now or in the near future you are off your rocker.
All these people praised E33 and that used AI so did AC Shadows, Marvel Rivals, MH Wilds, and SF6 used AI voices for some regions. Anyone mad then trying to walk it back or still supporting this needs to be mocked into oblivion.

Its basically a cheap tool to prevent any developers to handle the hard labor. I understand AI is a creative tool for people and game development and movie or animation development to them to used on their projects but its still more concern to most companies including Disney and Nintendo.

They could have used AI to extend the music 30 secs longer, used AI to duplicate the tree models, or use AI to increase the resolution of certain textures or expand it. But noooooo, omg the outrage the environment, etc etc. Everyone commenting has used AI before, its embedded everywhere. Its a tool to be used. It can be used wrongfully and really good as well.
Most creative agencies use AI in some form or another, and no, its not just typing a prompt to create a character and bam they’re using it in every game now. It still takes a team of artists, and designers to fine tune everything.

They are using Ai for the same reason that these large Companies are using Key Cards, Firing armies of employees and developers, and more. Greed. To Penny Pinch and to make as Much Money as Possible No Matter What. All of the Smaller Game Studios seem to have no trouble bringing full Physical Games to the Switch 2 and at better Prices as well. $70-$80 games aren’t due to Tariffs or inflation. It’s all due to greed and seeing how far they can scam the people aka all of us. I’m about completely done with Nintendo due to the Switch2 Key Cards. Right Now I’m just watching from the Sides, I’m probably not even getting Star Fox now, I already beat it many times on Nintendo 64 and the 3DS anyway. But the Reason I’m Not Buying it is because I decided that I probably am going to sell my console. Keep Collecting for the original Switch I guess if I do. I’ve been waiting for Indiana Jones to come back in stock to get a physical copy, apparently Bethesda intentionally made a small limited release of the Physical copy only giving stores a hundred copies each. Amazon says it won’t get any copies until July last time I checked.
I feel like less games are being game key cards. Like some surprising title are physical. That new bluey game is physical, same with many other ones that you wouldn’t expect to get that treatment. I bet we will see more and more physical releases, so maybe hold on to that switch 2 for a bit.
