  1. I feel like it would be cool if they made a Mario galaxy and Mario odyssey game combined. Like instead of visiting kingdoms, you visit galaxy’s in a more open world style game like odyssey while having the fun gimmicks that the galaxy games have. Anyone else agree with me?

    1. I think both would be good. Open-world levels and then some levels that are more linear like Galaxy games.

  2. I have a bad feeling that the next 3D Mario will incorporate mouse controls more than I want to use them. But really that’s not so horrible I just don’t love using mouse mode very much.

    1. Barely any nintendo games use it, and if they do use it, it’s a control option like pokopia/

  3. After Wonder I need my faith restored in Mario being a high quality game series again

    1. Wait you didn’t like wonder? I am curious on why you don’t like it since it’s one of my personal favorite mario games.

      1. I guess my post was stupid and doesn’t make sense so I don’t need to share anymore. Mario has been protected. We can all resume with our preferred feelings.

    2. That’s wild. Wonder was such a massive step up from 2d mario being stuck in the boring “new super mario bros” style for so long. Also the quality of the 2d games have nothing to do with the 3d titles. 2 galaxy games and oddysey came out during the new super mario bros era. So honestly your post doesnt really make sense no matter what angle.

      1. (suggestion: always be polite and considerate (one more suggestion: this Biblical verse: “Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.” – Ephesians 4:29, New Living Translation version))

    3. Weird. It was so far and above to NSMB. It restored my faith in 2D Mario? It’s my 2nd favorite 2D Mario behind World.

  4. After the last Mario Movie, which is now canon like the other movie… no thanks. I will not support Nintendo, who wants to cosplay as Disney. I like Peach as a gentle and kind person, not like Xena the Warrior Princess. That place is for Daisy. And since Peach is now as powerful as Rosalina… why do we need Mario!? He is merely an idiot who needs Peach to show him the ropes UNLIKE learning by himself.

I’m so tired of all this… so damn tired.

    1. Nintendo has always been bad at narrative writing. No ocarina of time isn’t really well written. Their games are essentially full of bs narrative excuses and convenience but they’re understandable since they enable gameplay. Literally nothing has changed. Also, miyamoto isn’t even working on the next one, nor is anyone who worked on the movies. so I don’t get what you’re so worried about.

  5. I think it would be fun to have a game where the levels are revisits to older games but with longer runtimes. Why not have donut plains where you can two player co op with yoshi? Better yet have a larger cast for one or two players like wonder has. Peach doesn’t have to be the damsel in distress anymore so she could partner with Daisy and yoshi ride through donut plains with full voice acting like bananas where they can reminisce about each place. The bowser battle could take place on top of his palace in that game but be an original fight. We could have Mario 2 baddies which could be the source of the story subcon could be mimicking various places

  6. It’s interesting that Miyamoto feels Super Mario Odyssey already achieved most of what the original Switch hardware could offer. That probably raises expectations even more for what the next Mario game might do with stronger hardware and improved performance.

Mario games usually stay relevant because they focus on exploration, creativity, and polished mechanics rather than just graphics. I think players still enjoy titles built around platform adventure gameplay, progression systems, and replay value across generations.

Curious whether Nintendo will push a completely new formula or build on Odyssey’s open-level approach.
