Wild and crazy thought here, but what if they got the writers who are doing the sonic Manga in Japan to write a game?
You mean Yūki Imada? He wrote both the “Jet Black Hedgehog” Shadow manga and the “Blade of Courage” Sonic manga. I would be all in for him writing a story for a Sonic game, mainline or otherwise. :)

I thought they had Ian Flynn. I guess they want a writer who knows nothing about the games, like they did in the 2010’s.
Pretty sure Flynn only deals with the English script though. This is all the way in Japan so they might need someone to write the Japanese (aka potentially untranslated) script.
No he is head of lore and does write the script. The Happy Tree Friends guys wrote the games before him. Hopefully he gets gone.
Flynn is a key member of the Sonic lore team but he’s never been explicitly confirmed to be the one who’s calling the shots on what does and doesn’t get included in the lore.
And writing scripts doesn’t always equel being responsible for its story. Flynn wrote the character script for Frontiers but was in no way responsible for its overall story.

Ian Flynn is a hack. What do you mean? They want a Japanese writer I’ll take that over Flynn. But Flynn remains head of lore so unless he gets fired I won’t trust them the stories for Shadow Generations and Frontiers are bad so are his comics. Bring back Shiro Maekawa or get someone who can do that same style.
Sega does have Japanese writers and atleast one of them came up with Frontiers’ story, not Flynn as most people believe.

The highest paying option if still under 50,000 american. I bet they made the pay lower so that the furry’s wouldn’t be tempted to apply and scare sega during their interview.
More than writers this franchise needs a honest to god new design team that can make some actual levels because if I see another set of boost hallways and recycled content from decades old games I’ll lose my mind.
Still haven’t tried rumble but have been playing Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania and Hate how it plays, the physics are horrible and in kater stages it’s almost impossible to make tight turns. Beat about 70 stages so far, none feel like I won from skill, only by randomness. Just played through thr first three worlds of Banana Blitz HD and it controls so much better and I’m not saying that due to the stages or difficulty or jump button, the stage turns when i move the stick as far and as fast as I want, i have 100% control over my Ball, I can turn.

Flynn isn’t gone, this ad is about Sega wanting someone in Japan filling the script writer role in the JP version of the next game. Flynn would likely only do the English script like he did with Frontiers.

Good finally Japanese Sonic again we haven’t seen this since the 2000’s so glad to hear this but it means we have to wait 10 years since Flynn is writing the next game. What did he do to get fired? Now just get rid of Iizuka and Webber and maybe we can get Sonic back to peak and have the Adventure remakes finally. 4Kids cast too.

Good fire Ian Flynn finally he did not fix Sonix he continued the bad. He and his crew are also really weird the further anything is from them the better. Now please finally give us a Sonic Heroes remake with the 4Kids cast.
