Xbox has been publishing games on the Nintendo Switch 2 and the PlayStation 5 but Xbox CEO, Asha Sharma, concedes that it’s a tricky decision as to whether they should continue the drive to bring games to other platforms. She states that they are now the number two publisher in the world, but also concedes that a platform must have exclusive games in an effort to make it unique and drum up sales.
“It’s a tough topic. Look, we’re the number two publisher in the world and in order to be a great publisher, you must have your games reach large audiences to play.
“At the same time, we’re increasingly becoming a platform, and in order to become a platform, you must have exclusive content and services. And so, we’re looking at that very closely.
“I think that we have to be very thoughtful about each title, on how we want to think about it, and learn from some similar cases in the industry, and that’s what we’re doing.”
I think the “no more exclusives” model was a complete nosedive and would’ve tanked the Xbox console. At the same time, locking content behind certain platforms is dumb
They don’t want to call themselves 3rd Party. Theres no point in an XBOX or and future XBOX Console’s. If they star doing exclusives again, they’d just be taking away from the Gaming Community as a whole and forcing us to buy software that could be on anything. Xbox games are pretty soulless for the most part as well. They don’t have the soul to be a 1St party brand anymore. And have really bad management.

Y, Minecraft and Grounded, sure. Go multiplat. But Halo and Gears, come on. That needs to be exclusive.
Modern Halo isn’t even doing that well and even Sony said they’d most likely keep Massive Multiplayer games multi platform, they’d be losing out on so much money. Most generations Consoles were even sold st a loss for companies. Halo 5 flopped, they through out the entire story and skipped it in Halo Infinite, I liked Infinites campaign but it ended half way through the story and Because Microsoft considered that a Failure too, they said Infinites Story would be finished in a book, and now they are rebooting Halo again with its 2nd 1 to 1 remake of Combat Evolved and not Including PVP because they want that to be a Microtransaction filled free yo play.
