We previously reported that Nintendo HR data was compromised in a hack and now the ransomware group behind it wants Nintendo to cough up $2 million to stop the information gathered being released. Nintendo of America has told Kotaku that it is aware of an “issue involving TinyPulse” and that no personal customer or financial data has been accessed, which will be a relief to the company.
“We are aware of an issue involving TinyPulse, a third-party service used for internal employee surveys at Nintendo of America. Nintendo’s systems have not been compromised, and no personal customer or financial data has been accessed. The data involved is limited to internal survey content comprising a small subset of our employees, and most of the information dates back several years.”
Thanks to SonicGalaxy27 for sending in the news tip!

TinyPulse getting sued for this time uh oh lol
Ransomware sucks.. the best way to avoid it is to keep at least one copy of your files in offline storage. Disconnected from the computer at all times when it’s not needed.
Nintendo: “We’ll give you two dollars.”
Nintendo: I’ll buy that for a dollar.
Who are these clowns thinking they’ll get $2 million 😂 idiots, be lucky if Nintendo gave them a happy meal with a mario toy in it.
Scum
Screw Hackers!! They attacked canvas last month and now Nintendo? Has the world gone mad?
The world is crazy… and you know the worst part? Idiots idolize hackers and other pirates….
The problem isn’t as black and white as you make it out to seem though. Hackers and pirates are obviously bad, but it’s not hard to see where people are coming from when you have companies that are as anti consumer as Nintendo is.
There is quite a difference between piracy and black-hat hacking/ransomware attacks. Ransomware doesn’t target companies for their consumer practices, and it doesn’t fix those issues. It is just a shitty way to extort people out of money.
Conversely, piracy is the only way to play many old games (Nintendo or no) without buying decades-old consoles and software, which can add up to hundreds of dollars because of the cancer that is the used game speculative market. The comparison alone is silly.
Ofcourse Crazy Sofiona would make this about something else and use it as a chance to further be bias and a attack others. Yeah, lets group modders, small hackers and those who pirate with those Online Terrorists. Things aren’t black and white but Crazy Sofiona thinks that it is. They are always on this site everyday like they work for Nintendo except they are an extremist that attacks and rages on others every single day for anything that their lord and savior Nintendo says is bad, even small things like fan projects. If Nintendo says bad, Sofiona automatically hates it with all of their being and will attack.
I mean she has a point with hackers, they are pretty terrible. They scam so many innocent people and do so many horrible things. Like even if you don’t like nintendo, you should feel bad about the employees being threatened with this ransomware containing their info.
Pathetic hackers. Bunch of scums.
When I was a teen, I got my Wii to play physical DVDs and PS1 discs. My PSP could play all of Nintendo’s past library at the time and it felt amazing. Later on in life I made a friend that has made multiple handheld handheld GameCubes, Wiis, and PS2s using actual Hardware. Want to cut down Pirating? Give people better ways to actually purchase and own past catalogues of Nintendo games, instead of renting them to us via Nintendo Drip Feed Subscription Pass.
